Is Sheikh Nasrallah done and buried?

It speaks volumes when Israel, who we always thought were the sane civilized side, are having to struggle to establish moral equivalence with scum like Hezbollah and Hamas.

They don’t. The IDF may not be as gentle as you would like, but they are still obviously worlds apart from Hamas and Hezbollah. If you cannot recognize that basic fact, then you cannot view this conflict rationally. There is no equivalence except the false equivalence that you invent.

Hard for me to muster much sympathy for the Hezbollah leadership, given the number of Israeli civilians they've murdered over the years. (All too frequently reduced to descriptions of "rocket attacks" in International media). Problem is, who else is going to be caught in the crossfire?

Iran may fire a few token rockets, which the Iron Shield will divert, but they not commit any ground forces at all. They are not that stupid, and would much rather persecute and execute their people that go to war against such a formidable enemy.
Iran has much stronger ties to Hezbollah than to HAMAS. There absolutely will be reprisals - though as usual, Iran is probably smart enough not to make them too directly. They are entirely capable of putting lethal munitions in the hands of others, however.

Hezbollah already has lined up a replacement, Sheikh Hashem.
The US State Department designated him officially as a wanted terrorist in 2017.

I am fairly certain the Israel leaders understand that Nasrallah's death will not bring about the end of Hezbollah. (Despite your cleverly-created claim to the contrary there).

In fact, proof of their understanding is revealed in the past 24 hrs. by the assassination of Nabil Kaouk, chief of Hezbollah's preventive security unit. More to come, I predict.

Jared Kushner indicated today that "Moments like this (a chance to obliterate the Iranian-led threat from Lebanon) come once in a generation, if they even come at all. The Middle East is too often a solid where little changes. Today, it is a liquid and the ability to reshape is unlimited. (Israel,) Do not squander this moment."

That's true, they have a lot of rockets.

But their ability to launch a coordinated strike that can overwhelm Israeli defenses may be non-existent for now. Much of their communications network literally blew up on them, nearly all of the top-tier leadership have been killed.

And are still being killed... (See: airstrike on their Internal Security chief, Nabil Kaouk)
Apparently, the message being conveyed to Iran is "Your entire Internal Security apparatus has been infiltrated, from Tehran outwards..."

No, but you support Israeli terrorism against innocent people.

I support the current Israeli actions, as a sovereign country using their military to protect their citizens, as necessary. I do not claim to be against all terrorism and then continually criticize only one side in the conflict. In this regard I am not a hypocrite or a liar. Yourself?

A further note - Israel conducts their military operations openly, against identified targets, and often with advance warning. They achieve a reasonable rate of identifiable successes in these operations. They do not hide like cowards, underground among the civilian populations and indiscriminately lob missiles in the hope of killing a few civilians. What identifiable successes can these cowards point to?

Posting provocative rubbish in order to provoke a reaction is called trolling.

Hercules56 also directed this same comment at me. In response have explained above who I support and why. No doubt that will provoke further hyperbole and "accusations" that the poster thinks/hopes will cause me upset.

Such hyperbolic posts most frequently indicate a lack of reasoned rational responses. Responding in kind merely lowers oneself to their level.

The narrative at anti-Israel protests is "IDF are terrorists in uniform" (See: Hercules56 claiming same).

Brenda Katten writes how that's the opposite of the truth.

And in Syria, there is jubilation in public over the demise of these Hezbollah fiends.

The IDF do indeed commit acts of terrorism in the West Bank and Gaza. They are all legitimate military targets. Only a fool and a liar would say otherwise especially during a war.

I'm pro killing Hezbollah, absolutely. If you want to call that terrorism, go ahead. You have chosen your side, I won't try to sway you.
And therefore supportive of the killing of hundreds of others.

Jeebus, but the greatest support for anti-semitism in recent times has been the actions of Netanyahu in attempting to preserve his career and freedom from prosecution, and the mindless supporters of those actions.

Alternative - stop killing Hezbollah and pretend that Hezbollah will stop killing Israelis.

The IDF seems to think a 100:1 civilian to "terrorist" kill ratio is acceptable.

Even 1,000:1

And no, most Hezbollah are in fact not terrorists, as most of their targets are military.

Yes they do.

Equivalences are never perfectly equal! …One difference is in civilian body counts. Both direct body counts, as well as the indirect counts via illness and famine. Not to mention lives completely destroyed. By that measure, IDF far out-evils Hamas, many times over. Hezb as well, probably (although TBH I’m not quite aware of Hezb’s score overall, elsewhere other than against Israel recently, so I’m open to being corrected on that factuality).

Another difference would be in that while Israel-under-Bibi-recently is unmindful of how high civilian causalties they run, but they don’t deliberately kill civilians for the sake of killing them; while Hamas certainly does. (Does Hezb do that as well? I don’t know, really. But certainly they support Hamas, who do that, so they’re at least indirectly guilty of that.) …And by that measure, Hamas + Hezb out-evils IDF-under-Bibi-of-late.

…There could be other measures, but it’s like I said. They’re both of them evil monsters, IDF-under-Bibi on one hand, and Hamas+Hezb on the other, with each vying to out-evil the other.

…And I’m afraid it’s you who either are not viewing this conflict rationally, or else are viewing this without a shred of human empathy, if you don’t end up finding Bibi’s conduct, and the conduct of IDF-under-Bibi-of-late, completely reprehensible, completely evil, and actually criminal --- specifically in terms of the unprecedented amount of wanton civilian deaths and suffering that the unarmed civilian population there has been subjected to.

Many here will call you a "Jew-hater", for daring to accuse Israel of not doing their best to protect civilian lives in Gaza and Lebanon.

Be warned.

Just to return to the topic, it's been reported that Nasrallah's rotting corpse has been recovered from the wreckage, I'm sure he'll have a huge ceremonial funeral, probably very spectacular crowds.

Oh, by the way, lost in all this, the news that Iranian General Abbas Nilforoushan, was also killed in the IAF attack. (commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria)
The Mossad really managed to pinpoint these guys, quite a job.

https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-822363

Also, dozens of Israeli aircraft participated in a far-reaching air raid operation, striking 1,800 kilometers from Israeli territory, blowing up strategic oil & fuel reserves in Yemen.

I've kinda noticed that Israel is making sure that civilians are 'protected' from being caught up in the current raids. Nasrallah's elimination was achieved with minimal civilian collateral. Lebanese are being given fair opportunity to vacate battle zones, prior to IDF actions across the Blue Line, should it come to that.
(Some reports are saying Israeli troops are working on combat engineering and tank fortifications beyond the fencelines, in preparation for going farther into Lebanon with ground forces).

Civilians in Lebanon know they are likely to be left without power, the airport closed, roads and bridges destroyed, food shortages, fuel unavailable, etc, if Israel were to go beyond what its currently doing, and start advancing tactics of full-scale war.
