I don't even hate to say it: That's exactly as it should be. But I also have a very permissive view of political assassination generally.

On the other hand, I do think it's interesting that Herc's reaction isn't, yay another terrorist commander is dead, but rather, what about the Jew who's still alive.

Yep, Benjamin Netanyahu, as head of the Jewish State, made the unique decision to bring to bear the massive firepower of the IDF against Israel's enemies.
With Nasrallah out of the picture, and Lebanese facing the wrath of an Israeli ground operation, I seriously doubt they have the stomach for much more of this. Especially since HAMAS is defeated militarily anyway, and more rocketing seems quite counterproductive.

But, then again, Hezbollah are fanatics, so their actions cannot be predicted according to rationality.

IDF announces that they have direct confirmation that the attack was successful.

By the way, this was not really an attack on Lebanon or its people. It is an attack on Iran, as were the previous actions of Israel against these imbedded terrorists. This was the clear message delivered from the podium yesterday at Turtle Bay.

I am not so sure you are correct about Beirut being 'flattened' because that's not the aim of IDF missions.
The aim of IDF retaliation is deterrence.

I am fairly certain the results of the pager/radio infiltration, along with the killing of Nasrallah and his henchmen, as well as the Tehran assassination of Haniyyeh, may be sufficient to convince the remaining Hezbollah militia they should perhaps reconsider their continued attacks upon Israel.

That remains to be seen.
