Preservation of Palestinian lives was done.
Infrastructure is being rebuilt as we speak, including electric supply, water treatment and pipes (where did all that cement go that was supposed to be designated for sewage pipes?), as well as roads, and a better border fortification.
All being done by IDF engineers --- at Israeli taxpayer expense, I assume.

For sure, I had my reservations about beginning this new one regarding Lebanon and the repurcussions of the Israeli assassinations therein.

I am not concerned about the IDF using military prowess and power in Gaza, at whatever level the top command deems valuable to win the war. The humanitarian concerns have been largely alleviated. The HAMAS body count is unknown, so you can't say "mostly innocent civilians" when you have no indication of the percentage of HAMAS killed. Or the circumstances of their demise (HAMAS guys are hiding with their family right alongside within apartment buildings, thus certainly it could be a 10-1 ratio).

Captain Eitan Itzhak Oster was caught on video this past week saying: "A person does not fight from hate of what stands before him but for love of what stands behind him."

I probably don't think any worse of Arab culture than you do, I just have the temerity to say it out loud, and to recognize that it matters.
