Is Islam an evil religion?

Lol jude, Mohammad's teaching are Muslim, they are neither moderate nor extremist. They can't be, they're the first teachings of Islam. They can't be any adjective OTHER than Islam itself.

Yes, just as the teachings and laws given in Leviticus are the laws & teachings of Judaism. They are neither extremist nor liberal.

"Allah is not the God of the Bible"

"Muslims believe that there is no other God besides Allah and that he is the God of the universe. They claim that not only is he their God, but that he is the God of the Jews, the Christians and everyone else. When examining the profile of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and comparing it with Allah’s profile, there are a number of distinct differences between them that can only result in one conclusion: These profiles simply do not match! Allah is NOT the God of the Bible!

The Islamic faith, through the teachings of Muhammad, asserts that Allah is God and attempt to place him within the confines of the Holy Scriptures. When the Bible contradicts their teachings, they allege that it is flawed, has been tampered with, and has many errors. They further claim that the Koran, through the teachings of their prophet Muhammad, corrects them. However, it has already been established that Muhammad was both a false prophet and teacher. Therefore, Islam’s allegations are unsupported, baseless and without merit.

There are a number of major differences between the God of the Bible and Allah. This chapter will focus upon five reasons why they are not the same. According to the Holy Scriptures, the God of the Bible is the one true God while Allah is a false god."

"IS ALLAH THE GOD OF BIBLE?"

Sam Shamoun

"This study examines the crucial question that needs to be addressed which is whether the God presented in the Quran is indeed the same God revealed in the Holy Bible. The Quran alleges that the God of Islam, Allah, is indeed the God of Abraham and hence the God of Scripture, Yahweh Elohim. But is this the case?

Are we to assume that just because the Quran states that Allah is Yahweh of the Bible that both Jews and Christians are obligated to believe this to be true? Or do we examine the nature and attributes of Allah in order to compare them with the biblical portrait of Yahweh to find if this is the case?

This process of examination is essential since our objective is to discover the true nature of God, a process whose outcome entails eternal consequences in regards to man's future destiny in the afterlife. After all, if Allah is the God of Abraham then Jews and Christians are wrong for not embracing Islam. But if Allah is not Yahweh, then Muslims are not worshiping the same God only with a different name.

We will examine certain qualities of Allah as stated in the Quran and briefly compare them to Yahweh and see where the evidence leads us. The reason why we are comparing Allah to Yahweh as opposed to contrasting Yahweh to the quranic portrait of Allah, using the Quran as the standard, is due to the fact that it is Islam that claims to worship the same God of the Holy Bible. Thus, the burden of proof rests upon the Muslims to defend this contention since they believe Allah is the same as Yahweh."

"Why Allah cannot be the God of the Bible"

"Islam's Quran and its own adopted practices prove that Allah cannot be the God of Christianity. In Arabic the word 'Allah' may mean 'god' but that does not mean Allah and the God of the Bible are one and the same. They cannot be because:

Islam has come to mean 'submission'1. The goal of Islam is to bring the whole world into submission to Allah. The Quran (Sura's 2, 4, 5, 9 and 47) teaches that all 'infidels' (non-Muslims) must either convert to Islam or be killed or enslaved2. The God of the Bible tells us that conversion is the work of God, therefore no-one can be forced to convert to Christianity.
The Quran says God has no son and is not a father. It rejects the Trinitarian God of the Bible. Muhammad taught that Jesus and Christians were not to be taken as friends (Sura's 5 and 9).
Allah was the pagan moon god of Mohammed's Quresh tribe represented by various idols, including a sacred stone3. The God of the Bible forbids idolatry.
Islam teaches the creation of a Muslim empire and the use of lethal force against opponents. The God of the Bible affirms that His kingdom is not of this world and commands that Christians love those who oppose them (John 18:34 and Matthew 5:44).
Muhammad, the founder of Islam and supposedly the last of God's prophets, performed no miracles. Jesus Christ the true Son of God and seal of all God's prophets performed many miracles - proving His claims to divinity. The God of the Bible performs miracles. The God of Islam is unconcerned with the human condition and has never miraculously demonstrated a loving concern for individuals.
Muhammad is declared a sinner in the Quran (Sura's 9, 40 and 48). Jesus Christ was and is sinless.
The Quran often contradicts the Bible. It denies that Jesus was God incarnate or that he died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. Within this context alone the following verses testify that Allah cannot be the God of the Bible:"

Absurd.

Why do the God-rejecters want to believe this and insist upon it?

The pagan moon god al-ilah is the God of the Bible?

Absurd.

Why do the God-rejecters want to believe this and insist upon it?

Jesus is YHWH? absurd.

Here's a question for those who think that Allah is not the same God.

What do you think Muslims are "tapping into" when they pray and practice their religion?

If they have a religious experience and feel the presence of God, do you think ...

1. They are tapping into another God entirely?

2. They are tapping into the Christian God, but calling/interpreting Him differently?

3. Or are they just completely deluded?

Jesus is YHWH? absurd.

You think that's absurd, just poke around JudeBrando's links. My favorite is this one from the biblebelievers.org.ca site.

Millions worship a deadly demon named Allah, never realizing that their religion was started by the Vatican,

Islam is the Western leg of the Roman Empire as foretold by Daniel the Prophet.

Jack Chick would be proud.

Interesting you see I just googled "Muslims horrified 9/11" and got this

tsig why are you trying to pretend all Muslims were glad that their religion was validated through 9/11 because most Muslims would disagree with that =\ It's like pretending Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and every Japanese person in America (nay, the world) danced in the street (and then they were trotted off to internment camps -.-)

I don't pretend I just say what I saw.

You're the one who understands Islam better than those who die for it.

Simply because I disagree with what you say, you conclude that I have not read the Koran and do not have a copy?

Tell me, bikerdruid, do you consider Mohammad himself and his teachings to be "moderate Muslim" or "extremist Muslim"? Please answer directly.

both.
the koran was written 1400 years ago.
do try and keep some cultural and historical perspective, modern muslims do.
just as modern christians and jews do not slay their disobedient children, queers and witches, modern islam does not murder non-believers.
only the whacktards do.
any muslims i know are mortified by the actions of extremists.

Suggesting that God does not equal Allah and does not equal Elohim/Eloheynu/Johevah/Yahweh is absurd and clearly motivated by bigotry and an eagerness to spread ignorance & hatred of Islam & Muslims.

..In the first video link I posted, Muslims say the greatest sin is polytheism. Again, a explicit denial of the Trinity of Christianity.

First of all, the Trinity is not polytheism, as The Father, The Son & The Holy Ghost is seen as three parts of the same God..sort of like the branches of a tree or the three equal parts of the American govt.

Secondly, Islam accepts that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and a Prophet of God.

I don't pretend I just say what I saw.

You're the one who understands Islam better than those who die for it.

Don't you freakin' dare tsig. You challenged with a statement to show Muslims horrified of Islam. And now you say you saw what you saw

That is the most RIDICULOUS duck I've ever seen tsig. Unless you're plugged into FOX news 24/7 then you would have seen more than "All Muslims proud of the martyrs of 9/11" or whathaveyou.

Where do you think you are tsig? Do you think you're arguing against people who don't know what they're talking about or at least have a method to learn?

And seriously, I don't pretend to know Islam better but I'm also not so impotent that I cannot at least google "9/11 Muslims Horrified" which was the essence of the challenge you presented. I don't pretend to know, now don't pretend that I cannot possibly find out -.- this forum demands more than that. "Critical Thinking" isn't in its banner for nothing...

So anything anyone says of "God" means they all are speaking of the same God and everything they say is true? If I make up a God and call it God or Allah or Elohim and make up His teachings, would they and should they then be considered as the same teachings and equally valid of the same God of the Bible? Of course not.
and
Allah is not the God of Israel
Then the Christian God is not the God of Israel because his characteristics - triune form, father of a physical son - are very different from those of the Israelite god.

Indeed the Muslim god much more closely resembles the Jewish god, as was acknowledged by the greatest and most influential Jewish thinker of the middle ages, Maimonides, who regarded Christians, but not Muslims, as "idolaters" for this very reason.

So it is not the case that there is on one hand a "Judeo-Christian", and on the other hand a Muslim, divinity. Very far from it.

Craig is back !!
Here to accusing me of endorsing genocide again?

That's what's known as - getting your ad hominem in first. But Bill, from me you will receive only reason. Except where I find it necessary to cite something you have written, of course: in this case "here to accusing me" which is less elegant that the language in which your more lengthy diatribes are usually couched.

But we've discussed this curiosity before.

Already addressed...

Looking at some quotes from this site, the Jews supposedly changed or omitted sections of the holy text Allah gave to them (presumably the Torah, AKA Old Testament) and so Allah cursed them...

[5.12] And certainly Allah made a covenant with the children of Israel, and We raised up among them twelve chieftains; and Allah said: Surely I am with you; if you keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and believe in My apostles and assist them and offer to Allah a goodly gift, I will most certainly cover your evil deeds, and I will most certainly cause you to enter into gardens beneath which rivers flow, but whoever disbelieves from among you after that, he indeed shall lose the right way.

[5.13] But on account of their breaking their covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard; they altered the words from their places and they neglected a portion of what they were reminded of; and you shall always discover treachery in them excepting a few of them; so pardon them and turn away; surely Allah loves those who do good (to others).

So the fact that these descriptions don't match up is explained in the Qu'ran by the Jews changing the text.

ANTpogo

It would be interesting to know what degree of freedom of thought was allowed by the denominational theological colleges to their students in the 19th century, when Ingersoll lived.

It seems to be an issue even today in the USA. See http://www.reformedreflections.ca/articles/ed-academic-freedom.html
Are professors free to teach without any restraints? Is academic freedom possible at a Christian college? Or is academic freedom a monopoly of secular institutions? ... Does a teacher have the right to teach and write without any interference, even if his works contradict the basic purpose of his school? Is it right for a school to allow, and even to encourage such an approach to teaching? Are those, who refuse to support teaching, which is subversive to the confessional stance of the school, guilty of suppressing honestly held opinions? Are they enemies of liberty, bigots even? ... These questions are very much alive!

First of all, the Trinity is not polytheism, as The Father, The Son & The Holy Ghost is seen as three parts of the same God..sort of like the branches of a tree or the three equal parts of the American govt.
That's how they spin it, certainly. But, really, try thinking about it. One part is the father of another part, who says you can't get to the father except through him (John 4:16). How man parts of god were there before Jesus was born? It only seems sensible if you've been indoctrinated with the doublethink.

"People of The Book" is a Muslim reference to Christians and Jews.

Why does Islam call them both infidels?

So which one is it? Can you see how contradictory you are?

But that pales in comparison to your assertion that the Trinity is a Polytheism…..I think you would have been burnt on the stake a while back for saying this.

In the first video link I posted, Muslims say the greatest sin is polytheism. Again, a explicit denial of the Trinity of Christianity.

But in fact you are correct…despite all the CONTORTIONIST Acrobatics and Warping about the “Mystery” of the Trinity it is still a Polytheism. Which makes Christianity a BLASPHEMY as far as Judaism is concerned, that is punishable by STONING.

So why is Christianity trying to USURP Judaism’s God and call him their God when Judaism’s God would in fact call the Christians Blasphemers?

What Characteristics of the Christian God(s) fit YHWH…..
  • Disobeying and annulling all the Mosaic laws when God emphatically ordered that they are to be obeyed FOR EVER?
  • Not circumcising?
  • Eating non-kosher food?
  • Not obeying the Sabbath?
  • Not allowing polygamy?
  • Not allowing Divorce?
  • Worshiping Three Gods?
  • Calling God an adulterer (Mary was married)?
  • Calling God an insulter of his mother?
  • Making God have a mother?
  • Making God have a son?
  • Bowing down to Graven Images (Jesus, Mary, Saints, Cross)?

In Judaism Most of the above is BLASPHEMY and is punishable by DEATH.
Most of the above is not broken in Islam…..so it seems to me Islam is closer to YHWH’s heart than Christianity.

Why does Islam deny that Jesus is who Christians believe him to be?

Because as far as YHWH is concerned and thus Islam AND Judaism….the notion that YHWH (Allah) would come down to impregnate a 13 your old woman so that he can be born so that he would then run away like a coward to Egypt while Herod is massacring children in his stead and then wait for 30 years to grow up and then execrate the Jews and Sanhedrin and all that the Jews hold sacred to the point that they wanted to Stone him in the street and definitely to the point where they asked Romans to crucify him and then get tortured and die and then rise again and not be recognized or believed by his nearest and dearest and then appear to Paul 20 years later and CHANGE everything he said or stood for to the extent where Peter and James disbelieved Paul and called him a liar and then appear to Constantine 320 years later to have a Murderer son of an ex-madam win a war where he killed thousands to become an Emperor and then wait another 500 years before the Imperialist Roman army massacred some more people and managed to win the THEOLOGICAL WARS and create the Papacy and then wait another 700 years for Conquistadores to rapine and almost exterminate the New World’s inhabitants and then wait until Martin Luther and Henry VIII cause the 30 years war and 100 years war and all the witch burning and all the Inquisitions and Crusades and the rise of America and WWI and WWII and Hitler and Iraq and Afghanistan and so on and so forth and WE ARE STILL GOING….the world is STILL NOT BLOODY SAVED and children are still getting VIOLATED by Priests in Churches and morons sheep are being FLEECED on daily basis by Homosexual Hypocritical Evangelical self-styled Reverends ….IN THE NAME OF THIS RIDICULOUS FAIRY TALE.

The notion is the most stupid and retarded thought that could have ever crossed any person’s mind. Jews and Moslims believe that YHWH, if he wanted to forgive people from the ridiculous concept of original sin, would just CLICK his fingers instead of going through the brain damaged farce above.

Why are so many of the followers of Allah so passionate about killing Jews?

Why were Christians so passionate about it….why was Moses? Why was Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel? Why did the other Israelite almost EXTERMINATE the tribe of Benjamin down to 600 men left alive by mistake? Why did YHWH kill the Jews? Why did he almost exterminate the Jews? Why did the kingdom of Israel fight against the kingdom of Judah? Why did the King of Judah side with the Assyrians against Israel? Why did David kill his son? Why did Solomon kill his brother? Why did David kill the 7 children and grand children of Saul? Why did Saul want to kill David?

[snip]

So when we show you that the Quran itself says that Allah is the God of Abraham et al….you deny it.
You then come out with what OTHER Islam haters say Allah is.
You also try to prove it with some variations of Allah from YHWH
But when we show you that God of Christianity is much more of a VARIATION on YHHW than Allah is….you still insist that the Christian God is YHWH despite the MAJOR differences and that Allah is a different god despite being MUCH LESS different from YHWH than the Christian god.

This sounds to me like you want to believe what you want to believe REGARDLESS of LOGIC or evidence or any other REASON.:bwall

"People of The Book" is a Muslim reference to Christians and Jews.

On the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem it says "God does not beget and has not begotten." It is an explicit denial of the Christ of Christianity.

In the first video link I posted, Muslims say the greatest sin is polytheism. Again, a explicit denial of the Trinity of Christianity.

Have you considered that they are all talking about the same thing but that at least some of them are wrong?

So anything anyone says of "God" means they all are speaking of the same God and everything they say is true? If I make up a God and call it God or Allah or Elohim and make up His teachings, would they and should they then be considered as the same teachings and equally valid of the same God of the Bible? So you have considered it.
Nobody here is saying that the Quran is correct about Jesus not being God. I am an atheist. So I think all three of those religions are wrong.

But they are all talking about the same God.

So you think Allah and Jesus Christ and their alleged teachings are the same?

Why do you go back to this? It is not a reasonable question to follow the comment you quoted.

Why does Islam deny that Jesus is who Christians believe him to be?

Why do Unitarian Christians deny the trinity? Why did Newton deny the trinity? There are many reasons why someone would deny the trinity -- not least being the whole 'three in one, but yes it is monotheism because (though there are three) there is only one' argument.

Why are so many of the followers of Allah so passionate about killing Jews?

Why did Muslims in Turkey give asylum to Jews fleeing Christian Spain? Why did Muslims allow Jews to return to Jerusalem -- from where Christians had thrown them out?

Christians have persecuted Jews. I don't say that to level the playing field. I say that to point out your obvious hypocrisy -- because you believe that Christians worship the God of Israel even though they have treated the Jews worse than the Muslims treated the Jews.

Why does Islam call them both infidels?

Does it?
