Donald's feud with the Khans proves what an impulsive thin skinned idiot he is. He could have just forgot about them. Instead he feels the need to attack them, making sure they, what they have to say about him, and his disgusting response are all over the news for days.

As noted above, it's the undecided right now who will turn the election and many people thinking about voting for him should be turned off by such a blatantly revolting attack.

Trump only looks strong to others that share his attributes.

You think he's just "upsetting the Princess?" Both living Republican presidents refused to attend his nominating convention, as did the 2008 and 2012 Republican presidential nominees. Gov. Kasich absented himself from the convention in his own state, and rebuked Trump for his most recent offensive remarks. How does Trump gain by sneering at the agony of a dead soldier's parents? Nobody would expect Trump to be asking forgiveness if he would just behave like a normal human being.

ETA: I'm still interested in the answer to that but I am drawing the tread off-topic. I think Trump is going to alienate more people day by day with no clear turning point. Predicting his demise is futile because he will keep plenty of supporters and they will make lots of noise. I don't think he's going to add anyone though.

The candidate has to something really horrible to get hard core supporters turned off. And anyone making comment after comment isn't going to be phased unless their candidate rapes a child or kills someone and sometimes not even then. They find ways to rationalize or defend anything.
