Ed Is Humayun Khan Trump's Turning Point?

It seems to me that the revolting way Trump has handled Humayan Khan's parents at the DNC might just be the catalyst to wake some of his supporters up and make them realise their guy is a cowardly bully.

Much as I have little sympathy (none) for grunts who manage to get themselves killed while on active service, attacking Khan's parents is way beyond the pale.

Not just his attitude, but the whole "Look at the sacrifices I've made" response is the lowest kind of thing anyone could possibly say.

Equating the dubious claim of creating jobs with the death of a son is so lousy I can't even come up with an adequate description of it.

This was no grunt. He was a captain who ordered his troops to stay back while he checked out a suspicious car himself that turned out to be a bomb. He died, they lived. This guy was a true, literal hero, and Trump is a foul-mouthed thug.

From a third party perspective this is so obvious to me. I have torture, the brazen statements of seizing other countries' resources - plenty to disagree with.

But instead of taking on the issues we have the left incessantly acting like some Victorian princess feinting on her couch because Trump said something her fragile ears cannot bear to hear.

Trump ends up looking strong because instead of getting on his knees and begging forgiveness for upsetting the princess he tells her to grow up.

If he needed to respond to the Khans at all, a decent human being could just have said something like "I honor and respect Capt. Khan, and I join his family in mourning his loss." Period. But he needed to show his acolytes that doesn't take any crap from those nasty Muslims, and in their shrunken hearts they are cheering for him.
