Trying to operate a modern weapon system at 50+ on a small boat is going to be an exercise in frustration, and at 100, it will be a recovery exercise.

There's a reason why the only armament on small craft are small arms and crew served (7.62 and .50) belt feds. Anything much more complicated and the systems are ineffective due to stability.

Not many. But few cigarette boats and jetskis carry helicopters that can do 200 mphs or fighters that can do plus Mach or have radar/sonar that can see for miles.

The fact is that the raw ability to physically get a ship from Iran to the coast of the US doesn't prove or even really mean anything. Without a supply chain and other logistic support it's just a pleasure cruise, not power projection.

It might as well be a jetski or a cigarette boat.

If anything its actually weakening the Iranian Navy be wasting resources.

Taking necessary steps towards greater capability, and doing so successfully, is worth boasting about, at least a little bit.

And it resists the boundaries imposed on Iran by other powers. An Iranian navy that can visit US territorial waters is an Iranian navy that can patrol the Indian Ocean. It is, increasingly, an Iranian navy that can push ever harder against the will and resolve of the American government.

I am sure the resolve of the American government is crumbling as we speak. (Probably with laughter because the USN Admiral in the Situation Room can't keep a straight face as he briefs POTUS on the Iranian armada's progress.) (What do you mean, you think the POTUS is more likely to be watching football re-runs than worrying about the Armada??!!)

Actually, it seems the US Navy needs just to have a couple of the larger units steam by at full speed, line astern, and the wake will probably capsize the Iranians, no shots fired.

How fast does the Warships Helicopter go? How fast do rounds from guns or Missiles from the ship or helicopter go?

People sail around the world alone. Some young woman did it a few years ago. I don't thing she was in the Iranian Navy, however.

Nope, she was an Australian and like a few before her, she did it by herself, non-stop and unassisted.

If you're in U.S. territorial waters, the U.S. Coast Guard maintains that they have the right to board and inspect. They do not require probable cause.

I hope the Iranians have enough life preservers and fire extinguishers on board.
That and the number of people on board were what they seemed to be primarily concerned with when I was boarded.
