Iran and the Nazis

Have you ever read or listened to an Iranian political or religious leader talking on this topic?

I don't speak Farsi, and I don't listen to Iranian radio or watch Iranian tv.

And I have better things to do.

Parky won't listen to non-Iranians about Iran because they're "biased", and won't listen to Iranians about Iran because he has "better things to do". That doesn't leave many options for Parky to learn anything on the subject, does it?

:p

....and I corrected that for ya.

i have read some translations of amahdinijad's speeches.
he has never called for 'israel to be wiped off the map', a claim which is often made against him.
And who did your translations bikerdruid? The Iranians, or someone in Germany?

Who did the translating here? First 2 are from an anti-Israel/pro-Palestine conference in Tehran on March 9, 2008.

Billboard in Tehran, from this article in the NYT.

Maybe you need to tell the Iranians what the REAL translation is, they seem to be confused...

Watch the denial begin... last time Oliver and Parky claimed the NYT picture was photoshopped.

What is your interpretation of this quote, then:
"You should know that the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime which has 60 years of plundering, aggression and crimes in its file has reached the end of its work and will soon disappear off the geographical scene."

Or this:
The Zionist regime has lost its raison d'être. Today, the Palestinians identify with your name Khomeini, your memory, and in your path. They are walking in your illuminated path and the Zionist regime has reached a total dead end. Thanks to God, your wish will soon be realized, and this germ of corruption will be wiped off.

Can probably find much more, including anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and Holocaust denial, but these are probably beside the point.

Well that controversial statement aside (personally I'm inclined to think "erased from the pages of time" is worse than "wiped off the map") there's a plethora of other statements from the Iranian leadership which are far worse, for example Amahdinijad saying that Islam would conquer "all the mountain tops of the world" and Khomeini explaining why the Iranians say "Death to Israel" and "Death to America".

On the other hand, Amahdinijad only won another term as president thanks to it being a rigged, fraudulent election. Plenty of the population don't care at all for the clerics running the country.

Yes, and we can clearly see that Iran's youth has a great desire for modernity and democracy.

It's rather ironic that during the war with Iraq, Khomeini encouraged women to have as many children as they could to secure the future of the Islamic Revolution, but today those same babies, which have now become adults (Neda's generation), are the ones rebelling against the thugocracy.
