IndoctriNATION movie

You are first saying only by worshipping Jesus are you a "loving successful person". And then secondly, that you are interested in being seen as "quite"fulfilled "in the eyes of the world". As a Christian, aren't you supposed to be set apart from the world and unconcerned with how you are seen?

No not at all, A Christian who lives like a train wreck is obviously not handling the word or his faith with care.
Finally, you are saying your current life, here in earth, is good as a reward from Jesus. That's the opposite of what the bible says will happen to a true believer (read some bible here).
This certainly happens to many, but many also have blessings. I've not lived a life of complete blessing, on the contrary, one of those really hard times opened my eyes. Jesus said we would have trouble on the Earth just the same as non-believers.

Matthew 7:5

You're falling away and I'm supposed to sit by and just let it happen?

did you read James 5:19-20. Is it not reasonable for me to question where you are in light of the things you are saying?

A few days ago you were calling yourself a Christian, but your words don't say it.

You are trying to help me? By insulting everyone on this thread and preaching a prosperity gospel? I appreciate the thought but thanks anyway. I would rather be a failure in the eyes of the world.

That's so nice of God to use people's misery to further his agenda! As a disabled person I am often told my injury was "part of his plan" (the Bible never says this, btw).

Plenty have used their disabilities to lift him up in what he has done for them through difficult times. I included.
It's a real shame they didn't believe as good as you do, so as to be successful and fulfilled. Yet you want to say I am not a "good Christian"?!

It sounds like "they" had it right. You seem to be the one who didn't believe it. I can only know if you're a Christian by what you say. If you're a Christian, I'm not concerned whether you're good, all make terrible mistakes constantly, I'm more concerned with your falling away.

How exactly am I insulting you?

And how am I preaching a prosperity gospel. I don't believe anything about prosperity gospel.

Is it only a leftist lifestyle?
The distaste comes from the word of God.

Plenty of versus in the Bible about the lifestyle and marriage, which is a man and woman.

Really?

Because Jesus would change their life and I'm free to be his witness.

Why does it offend you?

Interesting, how deeply you are sold out to your superstition.

BTW, your "lifestyle" does not "offend" me. It is when you try to make me, or anyone else, follow your version of the "rules" of your 'god' that i get offended. You are free to chain youself to whatever yoiur imagination tells you will protect you form your fears. You do err when you believe that your 'god' lets you impose your ideas about its "rules" on others.

Interesting how you pretend to know what your version of "Jesus" would do...especially in the absence of anything he is said to be said to have said.

There are also a lot of words in the "bible" about not eating shellfish, about stoning apostates, about murdering your daughter for sexual activity and your neighbor for working on the Sabbath, and about wearing poly-cotton...not to mention a strict prohibition on divorce. Why so concerned about one issue?

Not to mention, it was, in fact, you who identified the problem as the "sexual perversions of the left". Are you changing your tune?

There is a huge difference between God *causing* disability (what I said people say to me) and God *using* a bad situation for good. You used the first situation as well, which, as I said, is not in the Bible.

I am not going to debate my Christian-hood with you. I can see you are Bible illiterate, judgemental, and self-righteous. Unfortunately that is a stereotype of Christians in general, which you seem to be set on reinforcing in this thread. I apologize if you are not those things in real life, I only have what you've written to go by.

Are you forgetting many more people in poverty are Christians than well connected. People in poverty are used greatly by god.

Poor people can have lots of friends. That's irrelevant for the point, which is that Christians apparently believe that getting more friends to pray supposedly convinces God to notice, or help, or something. So much for Matthew 10:29.Or maybe it means that God sits back and just watches the sparrows fall, but doesn't do anything unless they all get their friends to pray.

Overall, what I find preposterous is that Christians ask me to believe this whole story--which that's okay, lots of factions have their own stories, moral, scientific, religious, etc., that they push on others, and one just takes what seems reasonable after a bit of study. But this story seems to be so illogical, I can't even figure out how one would believe in it.

Odd how your 'god' is demonstrably impotent to, for instance, regrow an amputated limb...

I'm more concerned about you thinking your superstition defines something real from which to be "falling away".

Do you not think Paul speaks for him? Peter? James?

That is OT law.
Take Jesus example of the sabbath, if your cow falls into a ditch on the sabbath, do you not get it out?

Yes, but they are free to do so.

That is a common judgement of non-believers. Not surprising you refuse to discuss where you are, not that it matters, its not about you.

Does that make you angry?

 For a person who thinks this is all bunk, you sure spend a lot of time talking about it.
