India-Bigotry in India

Something I don't think that has been bought up about this is that the violence is spreading to expatriate communities around the world. And this is providing fuel for those who, like the editor in chief of the contrarian publication Spiked, want to argue that multiculturalism has failed...

Multi-culti only works if people accept different cultures, and you will not find that among Hindus and Muslims. It works better among Brits and Hindus and Brits and Muslims simply because the former are accepting. I do not see (yet) the same dynamic playing out in the USA, but we don't have the same demographic of Hindus and Muslims in here.

We have both groups in large numbers here, but they seem to get along okay. Maybe our Australian laid-back-ness has rubbed off on them a bit.

A long running, now state sponsored campaign to demonize non-Hindus and Muslims in particular (combined with a similar campaign in Pakistan but reversed) in order to give the people a nice and clear enemy to blame government mistakes on doesn't help either.
