Inconceivable Sariras

My wife was raised a Buddhist and still is a strict Buddhist, we have a large shrine in our dining room. All this garbage is news to her.

Let me guess High River; you haven't witnessed any of this yourself but you know it is true cos Buddhists can't lie, right?

Buddhist are permitted to lie and often do. They believe small lies to 'save face' whether yours or someone else is appropriate.

Perhaps this explains High River's little fairy tale, the monks are having a laugh at High River's expense.

I suggest you try some common sense yourself. Your "logic" is leading you down the wrong direction.

Uh...I really do not know the situation in the United States, but Buddhists mustn't lie is a common sense in China.

I'll just say that I think you are so unthinking and innocent and believing that some day at some time, someone will trick you out of a lot of your money. You are the perfect target for every confidence trickster in the world. Don't say you haven't been warned!

Bull. My family in Australia live minutes away from the Nan Tien Temple. Nan Tien or "Southern Paradise" as it is known is the biggest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Amazingly enough High River, this being 2010 and all, many of the Buddhists at the temple are Chinese. They can lie.

My sister-in-law Jill, or Ming Tzu as she was known before she changed her name when she got married is Chinese. She laughed aloud at the idea that Buddhists can't lie.

You all misunderstood my meanings.I just meant I think every body can never lies.

It seems that I did not explain clearly. My meaning is that things are characterized to "things", but "things" is not really exist.

How can we recognize things? We use characters such as color, smell, taste, sound shape, component, ect. to distinguish things. Then we know this thing is this thing, that thing is that thing.

But in Buddhism theory, something characterized does not exist and characteristics do not exist either.

The quotes in English seem to be from a Tibetan Mahayana text.
Sorry, I can't read that and the sutta it is quoting are not given in a form I can read.

I'm sorry to the statement with ambiguity.

I meant that I think that one passed away can no longer lying.
Of course the dead ones are still lying. Do you expect them to sit upright after they're dead?
