Inauguration Day 20 Jan 2021

Watching Joe Biden's speech was like seeing miners trapped underground for four years at last being rescued and seeing daylight against all odds. Well, Clinton fell asleep, but for once I thought it was a good speech and from someone who seems so...so...well, so normal .

I liked that the 'hero' policeman, Eugene Goodman - who played the fool in the face of an angry mob and led the morons er, the revolting gentlemen - in the wrong direction during the Capitol Hill riot - was the gent in a camel coat and blue scarf escorting Kamala Harris. Apparently he has now been promoted and has a posh title.

THe guy is a hero,...he led the mob away from where the Veep was. He desrves all the priase he is getting.

I'm gonna sleep a lot easier tonight knowing the nightmare that was the last four years is over.

Bingo.

Not to mention that the new POTUS makes Ronald Reagan look like a young whipper snapper. He is going to need some terrific advisors if he is going to make any impact.

He'll surround himself with good advisors, and unlike Trump, he'll actually listen to them because, again unlike Trump, he doesn't think he knows more than everyone else in the world. That's because, once more unlike Trump, he isn't a sociopath with NPD.

Not that it matters, the military will arrest Biden at any moment and return Donald T to the White House.

It was all over social media, so it must be true.

Any moment now....

Hmmm....

Still waiting. Any moment....

Almost there....

On twitter, Parlertakes is interesting to scroll through today. It's got reactions from a fair number of Q-disciples. It runs the gamut from denial, to sadness to anger - as one would expect.

To his credit, he has a lovely dog who seems to love him. That gets bonus points from me.

Chris Wallace of FOX News praised Biden's inaugural speech. It did not go down well over on The Federalist:

With this attitude, which should come as no surprise, we should expect no change from the far right.

Miller was looking for a soundbite because we all know that's the really important thing.
Everyone, recite 3 lines from Biden’s speech from memory. https://t.co/6E0FU0HOx9

I thought Joe's speech was excellent and cut right to the point.

By the way, what did William Henry Harrison have to say that was so important that it took him three hours?
Here you go.
"I'm a tough Westerner among this effete Easterners. Also I'm not an uneducated idiot, no matter what people say, as can be seen from the elaborate speech I'm giving.
Oh and I'm not a puppet operated by Clay and Webster".

Though "I should have worn a coat" is a decent summary. [Yes I know]

Hmm, looks like Biden has busy first day.

So, when Second Amendment is repealed?

Well, that takes 2/3 of House and Senate + ratification by 3/4 of state legislatures, so probably not gonna happen any time soon. Since we have a conservative Supreme Court, maybe we can go with an originalist interpretation "arms" are muzzle loading flintlock weapons. 2nd amendment doesn't apply to any of the new-fangled multi-shot stuff.
