I don't think Travis suggested any such thing. Some good ol' boy might think, "Screw the both of them; it ain't worth it." and not just vote at all. Racism and bigotry don't have to enter the picture.

By the way, both parties have an enthusiasm gap. Romney can't seem to buy himself any love and Obama's base is royally pissed at him. It might well be that whoever has the best ground game gets the nod. Both guys are good organizers so it will be interesting.

ETA: And, btw, both will have enormous tubs of money. Add in the SuperPACs and it's gonna be one helluva expensive prom night.
