• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

I will challenge James Randi.

That's easy!

Then try that test with your friends first. If you do it honestly, and you get 20 right answers, then apply. You know where the application form is by now, yes?
It is very easy to test with my friends, but I want to know how can I meet Randi?

Have you done it? Were you successful? Was the test carried out with adequate blinding and without fiddling the results in any way? It's important to make sure you really have these powers and are not just fooling yourself before you apply to be tested by other people under rigorous conditions.

Incidentally, that would be 20 different friends with 20 different pictures, not the same friend with the same picture 20 times. Have you done that?

If so, please publish your statistics here in full so we can analyse them. Will do?

(Just a tiny, nearly relevant derail, sorry Darat...)

Read the FAQ, 杨建东 - or get someone whose first language is English to read the FAQ with you in China and tell you what you have to do.

(Could I just make a small point here...

In my limited experience of going through these 'million dollar challenge' posts on this forum, I've noted a tendency with these challenge-bound newbies to post rather lengthy opening posts that are of generally decent quality in terms of grammatical correctness and spelling... often they demonstrate a considerate use of the paragraph to separate out their points, outline some background detail and some interesting theories or occurrences that warrant [and get] polite inquiries... they even nearly address the correct criteria or at least seem to indicate that they waved the glass near the criteria questions but went for the soda instead and added a neat olive to finish it off...

But then, after this, they somehow turn to short, staccato sentences and are unable to recognise the correct use of the capital letter, feature poor punctuation, worse spelling, an antagonistic / enraged attitude, lousy ripostes and puns, a sudden fondness for the smilie functions and even lose all traces of any eruditeness or cited educational background demonstrated (or faux-demonstrated) in their opening post and are pretty much are guaranteed to descend into:

'Nah nah! you shew mee yrrs n ill sheow you myne! Nah nah! You come to mee and Ill proove myself, shew mi yor monny!!; , i dunt thunk u hav any monney ?? ------ ITS NOTT A TRICKK its REAL you just blunind sckeptic & you not smartt enuf to unsertand my GENIUSS ****. Never mind. Carry on. It's just starting to bore the **** out of me, that's all...)

How do you think WE feel having to even be polite the for the OP that just repeats the same tired crap for the thousandth time. Certainly that's why Randi and Claus are as brusque as they are!

I have several theories about why this is true. :) My favorite one is that - of the abortive challengers who post here but never submit a challenge - we're not really looking at new individuals most of the time. I've been thinking that it's a small group that registers and posts under different handles with different "claims" just to troll us. :)

Then again, consider my chosen avatar. :D

:( Hmm yes, I was thinking that. You people have more patience than I, clearly.

This fellow must have English as his second language, hence his inability to spot the humour in the responses. So, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, just wondering who composed his opening post for him and why they didn't explain the FAQ properly to him.

LOL! Could there be a group that neatens up their claims for the first post in order to help them get into here?

How's THAT for a conspiracy!! :)

OMG, I like it! It's just paranoid enough to be true... :D

Not just in the Million Dollar Challenge forum. We're currently getting this elsewhere from "values."

(Yeah, you may have noticed I've given up and thrown on the 'ignore' button over there too...)

At TAM1, there was a copy of a typical "application" sent to JREF in the conference folder. I have never seen such gibberish in my life.

Seeing that made me realize just what level of stupidity and credulity we are up against.

Thank you, Claus. It's good to be reminded from time to time that I am NOT alone here, toiling against the forces of irrationality in Asia.
Kiless (This is gonna be a big derail, so feel free to answer either by PM or in another thread): Which Firefly character do you feel to be most like your own personality? (I'll explain the reason for the question after the answer, to prevent prejudicing said answer.)
TIA,

I really don't think I'll bother with looking at the challenge applications anymore...
