It wasn't Steele's fantasy. It was just about the only thing not confirmed in the dossier. .

And that is all... its "unconfirmed" not "disproven"

Nearly everything else in the Steele Dossier has been show to be factual, but most importantly ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has been shown to be wrong, and that must really chap the asses of Repugnicans - the Steele Dossier won't go away because they cannot disprove any of it contents.

How does that saying go? "It is better to remain silent and be thought of as an idiot that to open it and remove any doubt".

I probably heard that saying a thousand times. I think it was my Dad's favorite put down. Although he use to say "all doubt" and sometimes he'd use the word "fool" or "moron" in place of "idiot". Also a favorite was saying "that if you had twice the brains you'd be a half wit'.

There is a bit of wiggle room, he said that his relations with Monica Lewinski " did not constitute sexual relations as he understood the term". One could argue that he really believed that blowjobs are not sexual relations, in which case he would not be lying but merely mistaken.
As I understood it at the time, Bill allowed Monica to pleasure him, but did not reciprocate. Grounds for impeachment right there

Which of course reminds of the old sexist misogynistic joke.

How can you tell if a woman has an orgasm?

Who cares?

I don't think that's fair at all. Giving another man's wife a foot rub? Open question. Giving another woman's husband a blow job? Not so much.

Is deep kissing sex? If a virgin gets a blowjob is he still a virgin?

I swear the last two years of the millennium you couldn't avoid having these discussions even if you hid out in rotary meetings.

The system is built-in partial and there's no getting around that. But that doesn't preclude a senator from doing the best they can. McConnell and Graham aren't even trying. They're wallowing in their pre-determination as if that was a positive thing, without so much as a gratuitous interest in the facts. God bless Dear Leader. He enjoys tea bagging and McConnell aims to please.

Exactly. There is no delusion that the Republicans would ever be impartial, but they used to, at least, pretend to be impartial. Now they are flaunting that they are in Trump's pocket.

"If you have half a mind to vote for Donald Trump, you're over-qualified"

Trump tweeted

Wouldn’t it be reasonable to assume that Republicans in the Senate should handle the Impeachment Hoax in the exact same manner as Democrats in the House handled their recent partisan scam? Why would it be different for Republicans than it was for the Radical Left Democrats?

Stop playing games with the Constitution.
In our system, you can’t be the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader at the same time.

The Senate will decide how we dispose of this sham created by the House.
If this continues into 2020, the Senate needs to strike back, standing up for our rights and ending this debacle.

She is trying to run the Senate and deny President @realDonaldTrump his day in court after the House’s sham impeachment process.

If she refuses, Senate Republicans should take matters into our own hands. We are in charge of the Senate — not Pelosi or Schumer.

Speaker Pelosi’s actions are an affront to the Constitution, the Senate, and denies President @realDonaldTrump his day in court.

You seem to have overlooked that lust for power includes not losing power

I haven't. If you weren't so stuck in your bubble you'd know why the above doesn't apply here.

which in this case means going along with the Squad of Morons and their fellow radicals.

Again, you might want to get your news from outlets other than ultra-right-wing ones.

Actually, it was for lying about said blowjob while under oath.

No it wasn't. That's what they said it was, but they were just trying to smear Clinton as being immoral, just as they did his wife later on.

That they are now lauding Trump is just the ironic cherry on the sundae.

Readers, what will be your reaction after acbytesla ans smartcooky have been exposed as people with an agenda not caring about the truth at all?

You'd like them to join you there, wouldn't you?

Ask Steele. It's his fantasy, after all.

You think he made it up himself?

How desperate are you guys?

And to think some fools still believe it takes IQ experts in controlled conditions, to estimate someone's IQ.

And others believe IQ is not a valid, useful or reliable metric.

Well I'm a Democrat and I don't believe that. Who are these Democrats you speak of and why do you think they are buying the narrative McConnell and Trump are selling? It's ludicrous, IMO, that Pelosi isn't playing fair by demanding a trial in the Senate, not just a dismissal.

The polls don't suggest Democrats want Pelosi to roll over.

People seem determined over the last couple of days to address comments to me that have no relevance to anything I've actually said.

For those who claim no advantage to the Dems in holding back for a while... Here's your clue to how it rankles Trumpy, who wants a speedy 'exoneration'. This delay hits him where it hurts. And he'll be more likely to do something *really* stupid and revealing.

I'm not sure we should take Trump's words at face value. He's not exactly known for his honesty.

I think that logic is suspicious.

If I’m understanding you correctly, Clinton was not really impeached for the actions put forth in his Articles of Impeachment, but for other motives.

Sounds like something taken from the current Republican playbook: Trump was not really impeached for the actions put forth in his Articles of Impeachment, but for other motives - i.e. they hate him, they’re afraid of losing in 2020, etc.

But a pox on whoever first mentioned Bill Clinton in this thread. Though I’m too lazy to look it up.
