Sorry if I missed the answer, but won't Smollett be prosecuted?
Rafer Weigel said:Monico did not tell @fox32news directly that he is no longer representing #JussieSmollett. That came from #Smollett media rep. I am taking down an earlier tweet.
Que no one admitting ideology blinded them to this one.
Is it not racist to have a discussion as to how guilt based morality leads to some horrible ******
I don't think anyone has to admit it. The body of work speaks for itself.
The interesting question is, how badly have some folks poisoned their own well on this one? How much of the other stuff that's being pushed around on this forum as established fact and rational thought... Isn't?
Will you both be admitting to being 'blinded by ideology' for getting other aspects of this case wrong? Specifically both of you postulated reasoning based on the liquid not possibly being bleach, but well...
There were lots of people making lots of claims that turned out to be completely wrong. There were a lot of people using reasoning that is completely wrong, even if the conclusion was correct. Lumping in those who were skeptical of the event, but not automatically dismissing it as unbelievable, with those saying any questioning of it must be racist (was ANYONE actually saying that?) is also wrong.
To use an extreme and overly simple example, if someone said, 'Blacks are naturally inferior and Jews control the media, therefore the sky is blue', they would be racist, their reasoning invalid, but the sky would still be blue. Likewise saying the attack had to be fake because it's too over the top does not become correct reasoning when the attack turns out to be fake because even more cartoonishly over the top things really did happen. The reasoning 'the attack must have been fake because bleach would have acted differently' doesn't become correct reasoning when the attack was fake, but bleach really was used.
It looks like the cops did a good job, but the doubters are in their victory crowing making the same kind of errors they are accusing others of.
No would have been an appropriate answer.
To answer your question, ideology didn't lead to my errors, that was good old guesswork not being 100%. On the other hand, those that jumped to his defense set aside their standards of evidence because it isn't hip to question pepe in the minority.
And, there's this. We're told investigators didn't believe the 2 alleged attackers screamed, "This is MAGA country," because, "Not a single Trump supporter watches 'Empire.'"
The most questionable thing about this is two white racists recognizing an actor from Empire.
No it would not have been because...
...not only did ideology not lead to my errors, I didn't actually make any here.
I also did not create any 'when did you stop beating your wife?' questions.
As for your qualifier, did you have an citations of where (or even who) set aside their standards of evidence? I haven't kept track of this thread that closely.
I do not think that anyone thought that the hate hoax could possibly be as ridiculous as it turned out to be.
...not only did ideology not lead to my errors, I didn't actually make any here.
Lock him up!
Was interesting and sad seeing most of the major news sites assuming the story was true from the get go. Many of the major news outlets ignored or back-paged stories of inconsistencies as they came out.
They showed tweets from celebrities condemning, getting riled up. "White people are at it again!" He did some real damage.
This guy should do maximum time. What kind of a screwed up loser must he be to do something like this? I knew it was bullcrap from the start but didn't dream he'd go this far to fake it. That's something I could not have predicted.
Trying to stoke racial hatred by staging a fake crime like this - unbelievably f'd up. Nothing new here though, it's happened a lot in recent years (see vandalized churches and synagogues).
He/they even bought red hats as if that would somehow be enough to convince people they were MAGA folk. Disgusting beyond words. Lock him up!
