I see no reason why those scratches and rope burn could not be self-inflicted. The brothers may not have even touched Smollett. Maybe just a handshake or fist bump.

The sad thing is that there are people who actually think this way.

When all is said and done he will either deny or say " I was just trying to bring attention to. .." and some will support that hopefully not too many ,but likely a decent amount of people.

If I were to guess these will be the same people claiming anyone doubting this was racist on the first few pages.

What is the function of screaming out a statement on a completely vacant street? Did Smollett actually scream anything or is that a lie?

Sure, just saying that the injuries need to be considered in any theories.

Presumably he was not injured at Subway, and so the injuries occurred somewhere on the way back home, however they were inflicted.
 
It's possible that the original function of the brothers (and unknown to them) was to be the first witnesses of a beat-up Jussie.

He himself provides the rope, bleach and scratches. He just needs a witness to see him in that condition on the street. A witness(s) who is a friend.

So he calls the brothers to meet him at that location for a reason completely unrelated to the hoax. His main purpose is to appear busted up when the brothers arrive at the designated location for whatever reason that he had asked them to come.

It's just another idea I had.
 
I hope the mere fact that the two happened to be walking down the street that night was not enough for a warrant and apartment destruction...

I hope that had more than just "they were in the area".
 
Tough justification at 2AM outside in the vortex.

Actually surprised that all these guys were up and around at that hour.

That's it! Smollett was selling his pet aganda to two dudes he met on set and arranged to meet them at Subway. Using clothes line as the animal's leash Smollett waited in Subway for the pair to show, during which time the aganda crapped on the floor. A Subway server set about cleaning the crap with bleach, muttering, "This isn't aganda country, you know," a comment which Smollett misinterpreted, resulting in a fracas in which the lead got tangled round his own neck and he was splattered with bleach. The two dudes turned up in time to see Smollett stumble from the premises into the street. They themselves made their exit out the back, aganda in tow, in order to avoid further misunderstandings, thereby evading the cameras.

Smollett didn't accurately describe the brothers to the police. He said they were dressed in black, but one or possibly both are wearing white pants. I look at that still frame. I think one brother may have a red or brown coat.

IMO, Smollett intentionally misdescribed the brothers when he was forced to speak to police. He didn't want to describe anyone to any cop - because if he did then he would have called 911 or asked Condo Guy to call.

But seriously. The face injuries don't look like punches but they DO look a little heavier than fingernail scratches.
