horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

great catch! I went back and fixed it. let me make the record clear that he said:

“If I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot more,”

Great point!! let me make this super duper clear:

“If I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot more,” Smollett said during the TV interview.

Another way of saying that would be, "If I had told the truth, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot more."

So he's right.

I think you've misread.

First generally though, do you believe someone can make a correct prediction for the wrong reasons? Do you believe patterns of behavior might be taken into effect?

If someone reaches to lock their car door every time they see a black guy out the window, are they not racist and operating on great critical thinking if one day a black guy they drive past is actually a car jacker?

That's the case here.

Poster's aren't racist because they doubted a story. They're racist because this is not their first thread. They ALWAYS think the black guy is the villain. And they go to ludicrous lengths to justify it. With reasoning that contradicts each other and often contradicts themselves. One might think it's the regular flow of bad predictions except for the level of certainty and bile the apply to it and the level of consistency in who they target as the villain. And the sheer number of angles they pursue to try to find a way to tar the black person as the villain.

If this were an isolated thread or what they did was merely make a prediction, your post might sort of apply. Not the case for many of the posters in this thread.

It's the 'they' again. 'Some posters' do this, 'some posters' do that. Is this because if you named these posters they would ask for explicit evidence, which you can't provide?

His good morning America quote "if I had said it was a Mexican or a black man..."
The more I think about this, the less sense it makes.

A Mexican or someone black saying "this is MAGA country" would raise more questions about his claim, I think.

And now that the police have two black suspects in custody, what happens to his claim that he was attacked by white guys?

When he says he's sure the guys in the video are his attackers, does it mean he's sure they're white? If so, how does he know?

How did he know his attackers were white, to begin with?

And if he's sure his attackers were white, why hasn't he told the police to stop harassing his black colleagues?

Hell, why isn't the progressosphere up in arms that, a week after a black man reports a hate crime perpetrated by two white men, Chicago's finest have only gotten as far as kicking in the door on a couple of black men?

If it really was these two guys, what made Smollett think it was a hate crime? The "MAGA country" thing? Was that even actually said?

If Jussie had said it was a Mexican or a black man, I think the question would have been "why would a Mexican or a black man be attacking a black man and shouting "MAGA country!" in downtown Chicago at two in the freezing morning?"

Which is probably the big question Chicago PD is asking right now. And I bet the answer isn't "committing a hate crime"*

* "Hate crime" as the term is conventionally understood by progressives.

GMA interview.

Jussie must have been down on the ground to be kicked in the back?

Amazing how little damage these two large dudes did to him in this fight.

He's very lucky, imo.

If they sent the letter then their ultimate aim might be to extort money from Smollett so the purpose of the attack would be only to scare him.

Remember we only have CWB and the brother's lawyer claiming that Smollett and the Bros hung out together.

Nope.

The racist posters know who they are. Their inconsistency of logic and consistency of targets has already been pointed out. There's nothing left to add.

And the picture of one of him in his building, and the fact that Jussie followed one of them on instagram....

And the phone records?

Problem is, many times people assign bad motives to normal actions. For safety, I prefer to lock the doors when I drive. Occasionally I’ll forget (my newer car has auto locks, but the older one didn’t). If I see someone loitering near the street, I’ll be reminded that I didn’t lock my door. I dislike having to pause to think if I’m going to be thought of as a racist if I hit the locks then and the loiterer happens to be a minority.

Seeing your comment, your default assumption is “locks door = racist”. Reality is that it’s just good safety practice.

Things race grifters argue:

Well in THIS case you correct to doubt his ******** story, but you are still a racist because reasons.

Did Jussie follow them on instagram? That's from CWB, and they've been wrong about quite a few things wrt this story.

Good point. The real villain is whoever attacked Smollett.

and the guy who said they yelled out this is MAGA Country and said “If I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot more."

Yummy racism sundae is yummy, racist.

You're ignoring the other consistency in when my hypothetical driver locks their doors. If they lock doors every time they see any human loitering, then there's not a reason there to suspect racism. If they do it every time they see a black guy and almost never when they see a white guy? There's something that needs explaining.

Perhaps he lives in South Africa and is familiar with the carjacking stats.

How many people do you witness, “every time they lock their door”? What is your default assumption when you see someone lock their door and there happens to be a minority close by?

Perhaps he lives in Chicago and is familiar with the car jacking stats, and the fact the Folks and GD were using car jacked cars to do their drive bys.

Pointing this out will shortly be deemed racist

If he'd said two black dudes said all that to him, put the noose on him, and dumped bleach on him, I'd have found the story even more strange. Muslims as well. To me, the story was strange in the first place, and altering the perps to Muslims or blacks would not have been more believable to me.
