I am enjoying the skeptics who have maintained their skepticism.

We have gone from:

A hate crime and doubting Jussie’s story is racist.
To
Two black guys in police interrogation and let’s see how the investigation turns out.

Let's look at it again.

Why would two Nigerian extras on Empire, mail a death threat letter full of Tylenol, to Jussie Smollett.

Why are two Nigerians who worked on Empire, attacking Jussie Smollett in the dead of night, in the guise of rednecks?

How did they know where he was at that time of night?

Please don't answer...

Maybe the police have intentionally been leaking incomplete information and misinformation. This could be the case whether the attack was real or a hoax. However, It seems more like they've been playing psychological games, perhaps to manipulate Jussie Smollett into admitting the hoax on his own.

We have? You must be reading some other thread, because in this one those of us attempting (and failing, Thanks Mods!) to rein the discussion back to skeptical sanity have been saying all along.... "We just don't know. Why the rush to pick holes in his story when it will likely all come out in the wash."

But perhaps you could clarify for us.... Are the two Nigerians race grifters? Blue Pill Democrats? It's just not like you to not have a cute pejorative waiting.

Missing the part where a couple of Jussie’s pals are literally in the police lockup right now?

Some of us are trying to bring this to skeptical, sniff, sanity, sniff.

Don’t bother, actual skeptics have called this race grift weeks ago.

Now I know it is not as scientific as cutting and pasting post counts, and implying that people who disagree with you are racists. But you’ll muddle by... somehow.

It doesn't. Not really. When someone reports a crime it's not really good optics to disbelieve them and then start playing "mind games" to get them to confess.

People who disagree with me disagree with me.
People who are racists are racists.

Now there may be a venn diagram showing sufficient overlap, but the two terms are not synonymous. I'm what's known as non-partisan. (You could look it up.) That doesn't mean that I don't have opinions and beliefs; it means that those opinions and beliefs don't inform my every utterance.

CWB no longer says that the guys were arrested at the airport. They haven't been charged. CWB has gotten some incorrect leaks so that has to be considered and that much is unconfirmed.

CWB now reports that the attorney for the two guys expects them to be charged by tomorrow afternoon. These guys are brothers who live together.

This one's a big development. Suggests that they were working together, but they haven't quite put it together yet - or rather, they haven't revealed everything to the public, not that I'd expect them to.

How important? It's sort of expected that our memories change over time, so I'm not too bothered by this. It's actually why, when I find something odd in a test (as an engineer), I try to make a record of as much as I can, as quickly as possible. I've gotten tripped up by this before professionally.

I don't object to the profession but I have no more respect for actors than I do for street sweepers, bank clerks and till operators. Why would I?
