Tbf, CPD tweeted that Smollett would be facing the music if it was determined that he was lying to police. Not the kind of thing police would say publicly if they thought he was genuinely a victim.

Red light cameras are often video cameras these days. Proof of the violation is a video clip. It's easier to just record video, and capture a clip of a violation, than it is to try to properly trigger a still camera.

Thanks for the info. As far as I know, red light cameras in my city are the type that take still photographs—there's a noticeable flash of light whenever they take a picture.

The manager was the guy on the phone in another city, so he can't provide any rope. Maybe you are talking about Condo Guy who ended up calling 911. But then we are told that Smollett is wearing the noose when he first enters Condo Guy's lobby.

If it is found to be a hoax I wonder if he could be charged with making a false report of terrorism. His description of the attackers is one where the violence is done for a sociopolitical cause which is announced. The MAGA attackers are domestic terrorists and so there is the chance to be charged with the crime of creating terror by falsely claiming to be the victim of terror.

Is there a greater penalty for faking a terrorism thing, and would the FBI get involved?

I think the evidence against the attack as reported now is fairly strong. No footage of the attack. plus the report of the attack has been revised and weakened a couple of times. plus the failure to provide phone records. Now its reported that he was reluctant to report it to the police, which makes it sound like he painted himself into a corner when his friend called police, and instead of coming clean he doubled down. at this stage I think it is more likely he either fell or got into an unrelated altercation. I think false reports should be dealt with harshly. Happy to be proven wrong though. But thanks for associating me with white supremisists simply beacause I do not believe one likely lying far left hero doing his best to give credibility to the other side.
