So other than they allegedly used teeth (is there a bite mark?) we learn that he didn't want to report it to police. I guess his friend and manager convinced him to. Or decided to call the police on his behalf even though he was opposed to involving the police.

There's not actually any allegation in the report that teeth were used. That's just the generic way to say that no weapons were used.

Why didn't they bring a stick?
 
I'm guessing that there were only two people awake in that neighborhood at that time, who knew Smollett was the gay actor on Empire: The sandwich artist and Smollett himself.

That doesn't mean those words are all that were said, and it doesn't mandate them being said first. Indeed, nobody is just going to say that phrase without at least a "Hey!" or a "What's up?"

I still don't understand.

They were sending a threatening message to a gay black actor, that this was MAGA country, but then proceeded to not harm him.

This is the worstest threatening attack ever.

You have argued both that this attack is fake because not enough damage was done AND that this attack is fake because it would be hard to beat someone up effectively in that weather.

Yes. Many of them look like they were punishment for a crime. Disproportionate, excessive, brutal, vigilante, etc. punishment. But they were in response to a crime that was committed. Very few of them were lynched "just because"
