The camera has a mirrored dome over it so you can't see where it is pointing

It seems like it would be impossible to plan around this guy even if they still wanted him in the show for some reason. His co-workers can't be too happy with him at the moment, except maybe his understudy if he has one.

I don't know what his bond terms will be and if he can work while out on bail.

Fox could proceed with "innocent until proven guilty" and have Smollett on the film set and taping shows as if nothing had happened at all. Doesn't seem likely though.
 
Chicago police are saying Smollett's motive was he felt he was not being paid enough for his role on "Empire". Appaerntly he thought this stunt would somehow result in his getting more money.
What a maroon. I am betting he is going to be written out of the series after this.

I disagree. Actors are used to audiences which suspend disbelief. They're used to staging things only for the camera, not to be viewed from any other angles. Actors are perfectly positioned to think they can pull it off but screw it up completely.

Jussie deletes the calls from his log and turns the log over to the cops....

Agreed, very likely. Put up the show of due dilligence for the media while they triple checked. I still think they had a tip about the brothers, though. Wearing masks and bundled up in the cold makes lousy facial recognition
 
I'd love to see the video of the phony attack they acted out, to see how convincing or unconvincing it was.

Others have mentioned that there wasn't much damage to Smollett, but I don't think there needed to be. If you have two (supposedly white) guys on camera walking up to a gay black guy, getting in his face, pushing him around in a threatening way and throwing bleach and a noose on him, and then he runs off there would be just as much outrage as if they had gotten a few really good blow in. (I think)

I'm guessing the 'perps' were so bundled up you would not be able to tell from the video that they weren't white guys.

I kinda have a hunch the 'camera was pointed the wrong way' was a lie to see what he would do next. could be totally wrong though.
