hominids

Rayg, i got pissed when mq said the nearest city is 250 miles away ,which is complete bs. The nearest area is only 10 miles, Slate falls reservation, population 256.

Ever since i could speak and crawl, its always been with me

The closest major populated place is about 250 miles from Snelgrove lake.
Slate Falls is not a city. If you take the Trans Canada highway past Thunder Bay. A few hour drive you'll hit the 599 turn right another few hours or so and you'll be east of Slate Falls.
(Gotta fly into that place).

This is close, (Well give or take some hours to drive there)to where I live now.
And a definite 24 hour drive from Ottawa.

Jc, where do you stand on the existence?

I don't have enough info to hold a firm belief either way.
I lean more to the its unlikely (lack of strong evidence) Could I come up with a
hypothesis of a elusive nomadic bipedal primate that could sustain itself
maybe...
Would I fall off my chair if a new species of biped was discovered.
Not at all. I'd be the first one on the plane.
I think the sociological aspect to all this has been drowning it all along the way.
One Thing I am sure of though, is that pranks and hoaxing have been pinned to it at every step.
Leaving very little room for any real science.(with it's weak supporting evidence that accompanies it).
This is an area many scientists stay away from.(Unless they don't fear
not having coffee with his fellow PhD's at the University).
Anecdotal and weak(inconclusive)physical supporting evidence is at play here.
I actually applaud Jeff Meldrum a bit. He could easily have let the freeman prints
and other influences go.

and if it wasn't for all these characters I would have one less interest in life.

Well his(Meldrum)adventures into BFootdumb may be dicey.
Again lack "of" the goods so can't have well documented and Peer reviewed analysis.
I won't dismiss his other achievements and contributions to his University.
He is certainly a character adds spice to a dull life. (if ya can handle that spice)
He just has a lonelier(void of some of his fellow Phds)coffee break maybe.
I need coffee and a intravenous catheter tube today.

Long, so what in your opinion is a good bf researcher/scientist?

One who is qualified in his field of expertise, follows proven methods of research, follows the scientific method, tests his theories, reports accurately, completely and transparently. Eliminates alternate theories by proper testing.

One who uses the proper equipment and validates his theories/conclusions in double blind testing.

I just realized it but a BF scientist/researcher is as questionable as the existance of BF itself. Theres no evidence they exist either.

Long, soft: Sightings, hairs, scat, tracks, sounds, dermals, ett

If thats your definition of "soft" then absolutely not. The above isnt "evidence" of anything.

Dermals have yet to be shown to be legitimate

Scat has never been tested properly and shown to be something new

Hairs the same as scat

Tracks the same

Sounds have never been seen being made by a BF

Sightings might help IF they were investigated properly.

Long, if a witness claims a bf was seen making tracks, you wouldnt believe them anyway?

I might if they gave me a logical report and there was a trackway there to be investigated PROPERLY but not on the strength of their word alone.

If these bf hairs are nothing more than mundane junk, it should be a big headline

"Bigfoot (insert footprints, hairs, or sightings) turn out to be nothing," has been the case so many times that the average person just doesn't care. It wouldn't make headlines because it is the default result. The only thing that does anymore are body claims. Those too, always turn out the same, with the exception of how much money gets involved.

A Bigfooteryism at war with itself is doomed.
Sounds kinda Carl Saganmajiggy like.
