Homeopathy Dare! Video

Post him a link on failed trials that also includes why the other trials are not double blinded to remove bias. A collection of useless biased junk is not proof, but just a collection of useless biased junk.

He deleted my replies, pity.

Yes, well it is the company's web site. However, if anyone wants to reply, keep to the Brauer product and ask about it as I have done. There is lots of info on the Brauer site. But as you can see, he does not want Randi's $1,000,000.. that might a good point to take up with him.

This is funny. It is a quote from the site and he is talking about Richard

I am enthusiastic! I am enthusiastic about getting homeopathy out of pharmacies and into the Trash Can (or Garbage Bin if you are in Australia or Dust Bin if you are in the UK) of history.

An amusing aside - I was hanging around Kabul cargo customs yesterday, waiting for the red tape to be cut on a shipment I was picking up. Noticed a pallet load of boxes and out of boredom, had a look. The shipment was labelled 'Homeopathic Medicine' from a 'pharmacy' called 'B.S. Bhargava, Pakistan' and then labelled on one side, each box was marked 'Harmless Medicine'.

Now - correct me if I'm wrong, but medicines generally are far from 'harmless' - insofar as one can overdose on many medications...

I wonder if the notation 'harmless' is another confession this crap is just water and sugar pills...

-AH.

Just posted and asked him to answer your specific questions. Hasn't shown up as yet.

Richard. Richard! Think, man!

We should get homeopathy out of the pharmacies and shipping it to areas hit by droughts.

I mean...they need all the water they can get...

Just trying to post this to: http://www.brauer.com.au/forum.asp

Robert Medhurst said "As to the offer made by James Randi, this appears to revolve around the mistaken notion that homeopathy doesn’t work." No, it revolves around the idea that homeopathy may or may not work. But since you are convinced that it does work, why not take up the $1,000,000 prize? If you are right and there is science to back you up, then this should be a piece of cake. How could you fail? Also, I am still wondering how Brauer does its quality control.
--------------------
I am not having any luck, it does not seem to post.

I just posted it. I think once Robert Medhurst has had his say there can no more posts on the thread. I started a new thread and cut and pasted your words. It has posted.

Hope you do not mind.

I watched the video at www.ratbags.com several times, and I canNOT understand the joke at time stamp 1:40 (or so, something about the effects of homeopathic belladonna).

Could someone please translate that from Aussie augmented with speaker feedback?

And were they truly cake decorating bits... basically white non-pareils?

Edit to add a link to where to buy the non-pareils... and to edit again because it seems the "dash" is optional, most times they are called "nonpareils"... in my house at Christmas cookie making a mess time, we just call them "sprinkles".

What video? The link goes to a search, not a video.

I said something like "If I was speaking Italian it might mean that I turn into a pretty lady". I was talking about belladonna at the time.

And yes - the magic pills are nonpareils or "hundreds and thousands". About $6.50 a kilogram at my local supermarket, probably $2,500 a kilo at your local homeopath.

Just a note that Peter looks very fit in this video, especially compared to the 2004 video Richard posted in http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58297 .

He seems to be taking the doctor recommended changes to his lifestyle for diabetes seriously... changing his diet (something he referred to, he cannot take the Braur Insomnia Relief anymore because of the sugar in them).

Yes, that's the new attenuated version of me. Samuel Johnson once said that "there is nothing like the prospect of execution to focus the mind". A similar thing happens when a doctor says "I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that your toes will fall off before you have the stroke".

I found some t-shirts in the back of a drawer that I had bought in 1982. They fit again!!:p

What video? The link goes to a search, not a video.

Try Peter's Rsoles website: http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/ ... and it was posted on the first message in this thread.

Peter, thank you for the clarification on the joke.

Funny how our evil conventional doctors go and prescribe proper diet and exercise! I've lost 20 pounds since getting diagnosed with high cholesterol, but I still don't fit in "pre-kids" pants. :boggled:

>Hi Robert I don't know if you read the rest of the post I added to this thread. In case you didn't see it- here it is again: "The evidence that homeopathy does work is very easy to find for anyone such as youself who obviously takes a keen interest in this subject. You could have a look the Glasgow Homoeopathic Hospital online database, for example, by going to www.hom-inform.org You can also download an excellent book that contains 84 pages of positive clinical trials on homeopathy called, Homeopathy- The Scientific Proofs of Efficacy by going to www.homeopathicdoctor.ca/reference/proof.pdf These are just 2 places where you’ll find good objective evidence for the effectiveness of homeopathy. There are a great many other places where you’ll easily find more evidence and I’d be happy to supply you with more sites once you've had a look at these." Have you had a look at these trials? If you have a genuine interest in following this through I can email you lots of other clinical trial data. In the meantime though, I'd be interesed to know how you explain this evidence for the effectiveness for homeopathy? There's an abundance of proof that homeopathy works, works very well and has done around the world for over 200 years. Brauer Natural Medicine have been providing homeopathic medicines to Australians for 34 years. According to the World Health Organisation, homeopathy is second only in popularlity to traditional Chinese medicine and is used far more widely than pharmaceutical drugs. Homeopathy is rebatable through the National Health systems of France and the UK. There are public hospitals in these and other countries around the world where homeopathy is first line therapy. It's the most commonly used natural medicine in most major European countries. It's stocked by around 80% of Australian pharmacies and just about every health food store. These are verifiable facts. How could all of this happen if homeopathy doesn't work? I and I'm sure many other people reading this thread would be very interested to see your response to this. As to the quality control issue, this was answered in your previous post- have you had a chance to have a look at this? Once again, thanks for your questions. It's great to see someone taking such an enthusiastic interest in homeopathy. Regards Robert Medhurst Brauer Natural Medicine

I am going over the "Homeopathy: the scientific proofs of efficacy" booklet. It will take time to exame all the claims it makes. But we can all point to things on the internet, reports etc. that support our point. For example, here is a clcear case of homeopathy failing http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/horizon/2002/homeopathy.shtml (Homeopathy: The Test) also here http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4183916.stm ( Homoeopathys benefit questioned. A leading medical journal has made a damning attack on homoeopathy, saying it is no better than dummy drugs.) How do you explain this? If homeopathy works so well, then it would pass all tests. - Anyway, you can clear the air and make yourself $1,000,000 better off. Just take the test.

Richard, I don't think your last posts will appear at the Brauer Forum - mine sure didn't and I had to start a new thread. I expect more weasel words.

Just to be pedantic, is homoeopathy rebatable in the UK? - we've got hospitals etc. where there's no charge for it (free at the point of access) but I don't think it's rebatable...

I really hope there's no public hospital here where homoeopathy's the first line therapy. What would they do if someone staggered through the door, bleeding - offer them some sugar pills :jaw-dropp

ETA: just noticed, they selling a slimming remedy that means you might lose weight "in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet and regular exercise" (http://www.brauer.com.au/category_results.asp?catId=5). Wow, that must be some powerful medicine if it means you can lose weight just by burning off more calories through exercise, and eating less

I read that booklet a few years back. My recollection is that most of the studies were inconclusive or negative for homeopathy being an effective treatment. My memory may be hazy, but I don't recall it presenting any well-designed studies that show that homeopathy works.
