Holocaust deniers, explain this.

That's like the Americans wanting to stamp out Communists.

So getting back to the OP, how do you explain them other then that Nazis committed atrocities?

Uhm... what?
Nazis committed atrocities. You won't here any other "explanation" from us.
Question to you is. Why were these people in the camps made the victims of atrocities?

One specific question to ponder for you: Suppose Germany had not lost the war, or much much later - did the Nazis habe any intention of ever releasing the inmates (slaves who were politicical prisoners, jews, gypsies, inbeciles, gays...) before their death?

HEY! No giving them clues.

I would think political prisoners and POWs are self-explanatory since pretty much every country locks them up during a war, viewed as enemies. Jews actually seem to fit this description.

People like gypsies, imbeciles and gays would seem to fall under the notion of "undesirables" like criminals.

I believe they would be required by law to release these prisoners. There would certainly be an international outcry if concentration camps remained after the war ended.

So this again seems to boil down to general atrocities like the Great Purge that happened in Russia. This isn't related to gas chambers and the "Holocaust".

Yep, the children were a real threat, weren't they? And you need a sense of proportion. The camp commandant at Meridian, Missouri, USA, said, "We could roll the fences up at 10 am, the prisoners would be gone by 11 am, and back at noon for their next meal."

Well actually do you suggest they had split up families and left the children all alone?

"Seems" to you? All Jews? Are all Jews politically active against ... the state as such? Germany? Just the Nazi state? The Weimar republic? The Kaiser? What about the decorated jewish heros of WW1? Would you view those as enemies?

People like gypsies, imbeciles and gays would seem to fall under the notion of "undesirables" like criminals.

So you agree that there was a state sponsored plan to act criminally against these people?

Could you point to the law?
You do realize that some of the camps we are discussing in this thread (Dachau 1933, Buchenwald 1937, Mauthausen 1938...) were already operational before the war broke? What kind of international outcry occurred then, how did the Nazis react to it? Were there laws before the war that would have required the release of the prisoners?

So this again seems to boil down to general atrocities like the Great Purge that happened in Russia.

Let me ask for clarity of understanding: Do atrocities committed by others diminish or excuse atrocitiers committed by Nazis?

Off topic, and you have been called on that many times. We are not discussing gas chambers at extermination camps here. Why do you insist on bringing up the strawman time and again?

:jaw-dropp Why take them to prisons in the first place? The idea that they are enemies of the state is hogwash. The idea of a "Jewish threat" was a construct to justify persecuting the Jews. Quibble away at that, it's what you do. It also makes you look like you have no position other than quibbling.

Japanese-American children were locked up as well.

So if we are not talking about gas chambers then what is the point of this thread? That Nazis were cruel? Well that seems accurate.

They weren't sent there to die, like the Nazis sent the Jewish children. You can't see that, can you? No system is perfect, but some are ****ed up beyond all belief. Except for people like you.

Everyone knows internment camps are the same as labor/death camps.

Duhhhhh

I'm not sure what exactly happened in the camps in the US. Maybe they weren't forced into labor or starved, but I can't imagine it was good either.

I still like to know why Japanese-American children were sent there.
