I know that this is an old thread and died an inglorious death last year (perhaps like Hitler, hmmm?) but I have recently encountered the author, Gerrard Williams, on Facebook. He's a friend of one of my friends and used to work for a defunct news agency at which I used to work.
My friend has been posting "advertising" exhorting people to purchase, first his hardcover book, now his paperback, and soon his movie. I have read all the reviews on the book and had been biting my tongue on commenting in respect to my friend.
But recently my friend asked for his friends' opinions on the book, so I jumped in with a comment something like, "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". That brought Mr. Williams, himself, to the discussion and he is now a "friend" of mine on FB. He even sent me a copy of the ebook for me to read and I have to say that the evidence hasn't gotten any better.
1) Not only did Hitler survive the war, but he eventually made it to Argentina and fathered two daughters, though no one has met them as of yet, leave alone done a DNA test on them.
2) The submarine that supposedly took Hitler to Argentina was sunk by the Americans months before his alleged escape. The authors cast doubt on this because we don't have physical proof it was actually sunk.
3) The pilot that was supposed have flown Hitler to the submarine base is missing and it is questionable whether he existed.
4) Bormann did not die in the war and helped Hitler escape to South America and the body that was discovered in Berlin is a conspiracy by the German government to hide the fact that he escaped.
I could go on, but it is my hope that the Skeptical Inquirer will do an article on this under conspiracy theories.
