Hillary Clinton is Done

To sum up where the email scandal is, Hillary has made the apology soundbite the news was focused on. The news has moved to the expected: why didn't she do it sooner? The news articles suggesting or outright claiming a criminal investigation was ongoing have faded into Benghazi background noise.

Unless some new shocker pops up, it would appear that the worst here is lack of transparency about which many of us fluctuate from bothered to understanding given the constant hounding the Clintons have been subjected to since Bill first ran for President.

'k.

That would be the elephant in the room. The elephant which I've asked again and again if they would address in my thread about Republican candidates. They have mostly ignored it for obvious reasons, the only shot Republicans have at winning is not to promote their candidate over the Democrat but to try to push down the Democrat far enough to elevate whatever clown emerges from their clown car above the Democrat.

weird, when exactly did she win the primary again? You'd think that would have been in the news, particularly given the terrible campaign she has run to date.

She is behind in New Hampshire, and Joe Biden is likely going to enter the race
weird, exactly where did I mention Clinton was the nominee?

Edit - I'm sure you ignored the point of my post because you felt it off topic, not that you are only in this to denigrate Democrats and have no one on your team to say anything good about.

When you suggested that it was Clinton v. the GOP, when in fact the crash and burn is against Sanders and the fact that Biden is seriously thinking about entering the race.

The Primary. In a Hillary is done thread, I'd suggest that the hillaries start thinking seriously about the Primary

I kind of doubt that Hillary is even aware of this forum, let alone reads it.

We know that the best efforts of the GOP to pretend the email thing is a 'scandal' have fizzled, so Clinton will handily defeat any opponent from the GOP. This leaves poor 16.5 desperately hoping that by some miracle she will be defeated in the primary. Clinton is still beating Sanders in the national polls, and in every state primary poll that I've seen, except one. Biden gives no indication of seriously thinking about entering the race, nor is there some reason to think he will fare better than Sanders.

Cheer up, you'll have 8 years of Clinton to try to find a real scandal!

Did the Clinton Campaign put out a new talking point that because (after repeatedly sticking her foot in her mouth) Hillary said she was "sorry" and thus the whole email fiasco is over?

LOLOLOLO!

Here's some background Regarding how Hillary TOTALLY screwed the pooch

Her aide is taking the 5th.

Shillaries: Non Story, Hillary 2016!

It's always interesting how a candidate that polls better than every single candidate on the right is 'crashing and burning'. If Clinton is doing that badly, what does that say about every GOPer in the clown car?

Her spreads right now allow her to just barely skirt past a theoretical republican contender. Nothing note worthy, nothing crash n' burning yet either. But her numbers need improvement to raise people's confidence levels.

Although scandals are nice and all it's still September of 2015.... We haven't even started primaries yet.... So much can change in one direction or another threads claiming to predict the future of candidates can be utterly pointless. For all we know, we could all be gawking at a Hillary-Bush matchup next year and you know how much of a ball people will have if it happens. I'm partial to a Sanders-Trump match-up just for the lulz.

"Hillary is Done" could also last until election day... or if she's unlucky her campaign will fail well before then. Precipitous drop in support or none... she's still a clear front runner - for now any way

Those comparisons are next to meaningless. Once the two parties have their primaries, a whole bunch of people previously for a losing primary candidate are up for grabs.

Emphasis on "right now". The party has hedged so much into her candidacy that I find it unlikely she'll slip enough for the nomination not to happen for her. Sanders could up-end her if he can get a solid grassroots movement and gain success in the democratic primaries, and if her scandals really do unexpected damage but she's got very little significant competition. If she loses it'll be in the general election most likely and even at that, with the electoral college advantage and minority blocs that trend democratic, a worst case would be she narrowly loses.

As always I'll favor "if's" rather than try to predict. If she can get similar turnout rates to what Obama managed she might be able to brush her weaknesses off. Though there are many scenarios that can be considered

Given her recent speech at the Brookings Institute, she is so night and day to the Clown Car it's mind boggling. She looks and sounds Presidential and it makes the GOP lineup look even more absurd.
Hillary Clinton on the Iran nuclear deal: ‘Distrust and verify’

CSPAN - Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton Address on Iran Nuclear Agreement

It's interesting that Michael Steele on Lawrence O'Donnell just now is saying the negative there was she's a NeoCon. I don't think saying you'd use military force if you had to is the same as the blowhards on the GOP side promoting bomb bomb bomb Iran.

Cite?

SG is referring to John McCain "singing" - "bomb bomb Iran" back in 2008

I recall McCain getting sand blasted for saying the word "Tar Baby" in a separate incident, but another subject... Seemed like a pointless sound bite of what amounted to at worst, a crass joke when heard in context. I've seen worse. Fair warning though, the clip above cuts off at the end before anything else comes up. This is just what I found after doing a fast search.

I'm not sure how a joke made 7 years ago and serious discussion on the current Iran deal issue are supposed to make a good comparison

Wow. That is some fine shilling. :eye-poppi

Of course you thought she knocked it out of the park when she embarrassed herself during the Andrea Mitchell interview, so forgive us if we take your posts with a huge grain of salt.

Because the song hasn't changed. The loudest GOP candidates are asserting that all the US has to do is threaten Iran and act tough and the world will cower at our feet. It's that very attitude that contributed to screwing the Middle East up from the US overthrowing Mossadeq in the 50s to the Iraq invasion in 2003.

Trump is on the news right now saying he'd bomb ISIS and the oil fields. He talks about just taking the oil.

Seriously?

Have you not listened to any of them?

Yes, seriously, please provide some quotes, if you don't mind, I have been listening, but I haven't heard anyone, except Obama, say the only other choice is war.
When I first came to this forum, I took you seriously, but after some time here, I find it impossible to. Saying things with conviction, doesn't make them true.
