Hillary Clinton is Done

Hillary's lead in Iowa has evaporated: http://www.politico.com/story/2015/09/qpoll-iowa-213462

So now Iowa and New Hampshire are leaning towards Sanders. Shades of 2008 when Hillary's big lead evaporated.

It seems obvious that the GOP is attacking Hillary more than Sanders. This could be dismissed a HillaryHate or it could be a strategic decision that Sanders is the easier beat or it could be that they don't think Sanders has a chance at the nomination. I wonder if those later assumptions are true? I wonder if the GOP won't regret getting what they asked for if they actually do kill off Hillary's primary bid?

Shades of 2008, indeed.

Or it could be that Slick Willamina, just screwed the pooch! The GOP didn't have to do much to help her either.

There's nobody like Obama waiting in the wings this election, at least yet. Sanders and Biden are unelectable, and I think Hillary is too.

If indeed Hillary is such a weak candidate, shouldn't the GOP be doing all it can to ensure that she gets the nomination ?

Well, they could have turned their backs, whistled and looked the other way.
I'm pretty sure there weren't any Democrats looking into her actions as SOS before hand, and clearly, there are more than a few who still feel this was simply standard operating procedure for anyone who would occupy that office. A manufactured scandal at best.

Once again, here's what scares me most. That somehow, she manages to get past this current mess of her own making, and does get herself elected to the highest office in the land. Then, six months or so in, there are yet even more revelations, far more damning than what has even been seen to date. Serious, global effecting information that she let slip though her fingers, through already demonstratively proven, and admitted, self serving incompetence, all so she alone could achieve her lifelong goal of becoming President.
I'll paraphrase Douglas Adams here.
Anyone who wants to be President so desperately, they are willing to do whatever it possibly takes to get that job, should, under no circumstance whatsoever, be allowed to do the job.
We don't need a leader who transmogrifies before our eyes at will, best to just nip her in the bud.

It does seem that way, no?

I think many dems still like the fact that Trump is leading the GOP.

Were I a Republican I would agree with that. I think if we send HRC up for POTUS, the turn out from conservatives would be huge! Assuring any conservative the office. Bernie is coming, get ready!

A concern for the GOP may be that they're very good at getting the vote out. Conservatives are very diligent about voting - at least that's what's happened historically. IMO the problem the GOP has had recently is not getting the conservative vote out but rather that they cannot get enough of the "undecideds" to vote for them.

The GOP has to hope for a low voter turnout and large scale voter apathy.

What could the GOP do to ensure she gets the nomination?

Ensure, nothing. Encourage and influence, plenty. Instead, because Hillary is a strong candidate, there are fake scandals fabricated by the GOP quite often.

Exactly how does this play out?

The GOP made Hillary say "vast right wing conspiracies" two decades ago, "can you imagine" the scrutiny she would be under 15 years ago when talking about why she wouldn't use emails, made her set up "clintonemails.com" 7 years ago, and made her say increasing more and more idiotic things like "I like snapchat" "wipe it with a cloth" "I didn't think about my emails"?

Hillary is a garbage candidate and Hillary's **** ups are her own doing.

Firstly don't release any negative news about her - especially if it's true. Call off the attack dogs and give her an easy ride to the convention.

If there's any positive news about Hillary then try to get it on newswires.

Have GOP candidates and potentates "accidentally" slip into interview responses how concerned they are about Hillary and what a strong candidate she'd be.

On no account should they continue to attack Hillary because it is apparently driving down her support.

This current email "scandal" is one that is finally sticking, but it is only one of many fake scandals that the GOP has fabricated about Hillary.

Because the song hasn't changed. The loudest GOP candidates are asserting that all the US has to do is threaten Iran and act tough and the world will cower at our feet. It's that very attitude that contributed to screwing the Middle East up from the US overthrowing Mossadeq in the 50s to the Iraq invasion in 2003.

Doesn't really sound too different from Hillary:

Almost every time there was an internal disagreement within the Obama administration about whether to use force, Clinton could be found on the interventionist side. She successfully pushed for an escalation of the war in Afghanistan, and has been open about her desire to intervene further in Syria. While you can’t draw a direct correlation between the two, it’s nevertheless intriguing that so many of the Obama administration’s major diplomatic successes have occurred in the years since Clinton departed.

I don't agree it is finally sticking. It is currently in the news and currently being used to paint Clinton as untrustworthy. There are also the usual bending in the wind accusations.

It's a year out. Clinton is ahead by double digits in the national polls. Unless an actual crime is uncovered, like Benghazi, the email scandal has no staying power.

What is the crime here? Lack of transparency, and given the long running Clinton witch hunters, somewhat understandable. That's it. The rest is inflated hot air.

Yep. She used a private email server, like many in elected offices. Of course, they ignore that Bush did the same and then had all of the servers destroyed after he left office.
