Hillary Clinton is Done

@GrizzlyBear.... Yep. Politics (both variations on the sub-forum) and SI&CE should have sub-warnings "Abandon All Skepticism Ye Who Enter". It's mostly variations of "Y'all are a bunch of poopie heads!" The fact that SG and I happen to be right shouldn't prevent the conservative miscreants from posting, though.

Since Clinton is pretty likely the Dem nominee, it's rather fun to see so many wishing on a star and trying to support the "done" label and I can't speak for other LOL Lefties posting in the thread, but I'm just here to earn the street cred to rub their noses in it in 15 months.

My philosophy is if I make a wrong prediction, then I make a wrong prediction but I try not to make them so absolute as to give an easy avenue to have my face rubbed in it. Bias is human nature, but it's realistic to point out that 2008 saw Hillary as a clear front runner until Obama gained his traction. Who knows if it happens again, or somehow differently... I don't think she should be POTUS, but unless something major happens the only thing that I see as being up in the air is the general elections...

I suppose "done" is a subjective term in politics for some... but I'm not one to make predictions I have no confidence in yet. Particularly because it's not out of the question that I "could" vote for her or a third party if the race is in any way reminiscent of the last governors race in Florida, where we had "bad" vs "worse" as the choice.

Hush, you, and your "reasonable positions"! This is USA Politics! We don't do "reasonable positions"!

Do you agree with his position? Why or why not?

I was attempting to call attention to the reasonableness of his position in a humorous way. Apparently that did not come through as well as I would have liked. We may disagree on whether we think Clinton should be POTUS, but Grizzly Bear's position appears to be well thought out and fair.

Well the sarcasm seemed obvious to me. I didnt have any problem with it.

To be fair, a part of me thinks the email scandal is significant enough, but i like to be realistic. What my bias tells me and what happens in reality are very often two different things. The matter with Trump not collapsing sooner is an example of my reasons for this.

Plus, even if i dont agree with people on things I usually try to understand their angle... which is helpful for explaining things

And yet you opted not to engage with it in any meaningful way.

Why remark on an unusually reasonable position, if reasonable discussion isn't something you're interested in doing?

When one makes a sane statement that acknowledges that so much of this is subjective, how do you suggest I engage with it?

Oh, so you "already know," do you. Must make life simple having such strong preconceptions.

Why is this so hard to believe, I'm a conservative republican, I listen to this stuff all day long, yes I knew CNN was going to ask questions to get them to argue and I already knew what their answers would be, I don't care if you don't, it doesn't really matter.

Yes, life is simpler when you're informed, thorough and good looking. ;)

That could also be an ideal definition of the "low-information voter" certain posters rail about. I pretty much know what "they" will say, but it's always informative to see which wrinkle who throws in. I certainly didn't see Fiorina's move to stake out the anti-abortion crowd coming. I had her figured to try to sell herself as a GOP moderate and avoid abortion like the plague. Watching that part was fascinating. I've seen it in replay and keep looking for that moment when she bugs her eyes out and realizes "Whooops, I just went THERE, didn't I?"

2010: How did Carly Fiorina become an anti-abortion hero?

Apparently either she or her current hubby are sterile (according to Wiki they wanted kids but couldn't have them). Interesting that she's pro-life and only for voluntary paid maternity leave since she's never had to face the problem of an inconvenient pregnancy during her career.

Yeah, I knew that's where her heart was but I figured her to say clear of it, following the RNC directives of 2010... "Look, we know we've got that whacky segment, so don't mention the topic...."

Maybe it's just another case of the nominees having to run harder and harder to the right to make a showing in the primaries, and shooting themselves in the foot for the general election. They're certainly doing a wonderful job of it on immigration.

Hillary Clinton is Done.

So, did you poke her to check???

Did she follow up by mooning you????

Enquirer minds want to know!!!!!

Only because you don't know the real definition. Since you don't, that actually fits more with what a low information voter is.
