That would not be a lawful order.
Why?That would not be a lawful order.
Only if the Secretary of defence is dead.
Putting aside the fact if the military thought it would cause world war 3 they just wouldn't do it.
They are not stupid.
Not at allThe SecDef can not veto the order. The only legal way to stop the president is to invoke section 4, and that can take awhile.
Again, your argument why we can Trump have nukes is not that he would show restraint, but that you count on others to restrain him.
Is that really the kind of person you want in charge?
Why?
When launching nukes to wipe out a city you are saying is so easy.
It's just a couple of hundred people.
Wiping out a city. Every one is just going to go "Sweet. No worries Mr prez"
All cool.Stop embarrassing yourself and get back on topic.
A Kiwi would know!... they act like sheep
Would seem a bit more plausable. To each...their own!![]()
The president can order an act of war because that is the set up of the USA, he cannot lawfully order USA soldiers to shoot citizens dead. Why?

Hillary and the debate rules
Against expectations, the Presidential Debate Commission has adopted rules that do not favor Hillary Clinton. She will have to stand the entire 90 minutes. With no stool. And no commercial breaks. Her campaign’s request that she have a booster to make her appear close in height to Donald Trump was turned down.
An hour and a half under bright lights, facing pure stress, gravity pressing her body onto her legs and feet, staying balanced the whole time. Worrying about a seizure.
Look for one or more bathroom breaks. Then look for claims she took meds when she went to the little girls' room.

Can Hillary actually stand up for an hour and a half without collapsing? Doubtful.
Or suppress her frequent coughing fits? Again, doubtful.
Even with multiple bathroom breaks, she still better wear two or more diapers; they'll be soaked.
