Hillary Clinton is Done: part 3

It has to do with pointing out to supposed lefties that their sniping, clever bons mots, comments on her appearance or clothing, AND ZERO ATTENTION TO HER OPPONENT'S DEFECTS, is only helping them achieve the satisfaction of bitching about Clinton. It is not helping to achieve the more important goal, which has to be to crush the GOP.

It's also interesting how the moderate right always attempts to recuperate the left when they need them. Maybe that works in the US, I don't know, but where I am from we've already had right-wingers trying to recuperate the left and have seen the result, so we've wised up to that.

Anyway, have fun slaughtering those dirty brownies overseas - I'm sure it's super-progressive and such.

Oh and who the **** cares about whether she has pneumonia or something like that? The health problem is clearly in the head.

Next time a male candidate does something so *********** tone deaf and hypocritical I will certainly follow up!

Something like this?

Appeal to outfit fallacy! :)

Von Ribbentrop. I literally laughed out loud!

H. Clinton (D-epends)

Maybe Von Ribbentrop isn't such a bad comparison to Clinton. I've watched about 10 minutes of her speech which was linked earlier in the thread. In it she describes the relation between Americans and other people. They (Americans) are, relatively speaking, on "a hill" - above the rest of us - but us, lower-humans, can receive their "shine"[*]. This shine is so exceptional that us lower-humans repeat that they truly are the greatest. Then she goes on about how great the army is, especially when killing people in the rest of the world. She doesn't mention the reason for these attacks on people in the rest of the world, but presumably it's to make sure that they also receive their shine properly.

So we have:
-Dividing people into "higher" and "lower" groups.
-Rampant nationalism.
-Rampant militarism.
-Documented history of killing the "lower" humans in large numbers.
-Her supporters claim "you are anti-American" when you oppose their hero, just like the NSDAP also called its opponents "anti-German".

Yeah, I'll go with the Von Ribbentrop-Clinton comparison :)

* Not sure if that's a reference to that uranium. If Hillary's "passionate" supporters want to do something useful rather than repeating some silly false dilemma ad nauseam, then maybe they should get her to state the coordinates of those depleted uranium rounds, because the rest of us would like to clean this up - you know, too many cancers and stuff like that. Clinton seems to do nothing but talk these days, surely she could fit in those coordinates somewhere in one of her speeches.

The moderate right? Moi? :jaw-dropp

Could someone (looking at you, CE) who's not historically ignorant explain the Molotov/von Ribbentrop allusion to the kids.

I've seen tortured logic in the past, and now I've seen this.

Congratulations. A new benchmark.

Sorry, aren't you doing this "vote for Hillary!" stuff around here? Hillary's not on the left you know.

Could someone (looking at you, CE) who's not historically ignorant explain the Molotov/von Ribbentrop allusion to the kids.

Hillary is Von Ribbentrop and Trump is Molotov? It seems to fit quite nicely. Trump being authoritarian but isolationist. Hillary being imperialistic and going by that "higher" and "lower" humans distinction.

You haven't read a word I've said, right? I'm anti-Hillary. Far too conservative and far too embedded in the corporatist-financial "New" Democratic Party. But she's a little (very little) to the left of Obama, who was even worse in that respect - hell, he didn't make speeches to GS, he invited them into the government after they spearheaded the financial collapse in '08.

Hillary's going to be business as usual with a slight nudge to the progressive side because she - and the party - need the progressive wing's support. Trump and the GOP are dangerous.

My support is strategic. I don't care how much posters hate Hillary. There's an election to be fought and it's the most important one in fifty years.

Jeez. Perspective, fer crissake.

von Ribbentrop is the paleo-conservatives who will do anything and say anything to stop the Dems.... it's just a bonus that it's Hillary who they have some extra hate on. Nazis = Right Wing.

Molotov is the supposed leftists. Communists/Soviets = Left Wing.

My comment is on the posters here, not the candidates. Leftists quoting detritus from Conservative Tree House and Breitbart? I read those sites for the comedy value, not for content. When a self-identified progressive's attacks sound like the come from Roger Stone, it's time to stop and re-think things. And like the Molotov/von Ribbentrop Pact, the short term (which will not be achieved anyway) target gets achieved and what happens? Russia gained two inches of Poland and two years of not getting their asses kicked. If the left/right alliance defeats Hillary what do they gain? Trump. In both cases it's the left that loses.

She's not my candidate. But I would happily vote for a Hillary/Hillary ticket, with more Hillary clones filling the entire cabinet as well as every upcoming Supreme Court vacancy while Bill leads a 30-city casting call for an all-girl revival of "Oh! Calcutta!" than consider voting for even so much as Donald Trump's hazy afternoon shadow.

Hypocrisy? Uh... no.

QFT!

Hypocrisy is the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs; hence in general sense, dissimulation, pretense, sham. It is the practice of engaging in the same behavior or activity for which one criticizes another. In moral psychology, it is the failure to follow one’s own expressed moral rules and principles.[1]

So...a lot? LOL!

Of course not, it's the only one they have.

Oh and I fully agree with your statement earlier that Trump is so far "gone" that there is simply no point in trying to debate with his supporters. However, recently I figured that the same is true for Hillary supporters to pretty much the same degree.

This election has really been an eye opener. They're not exactly the same but they do share some similar bias and rhetoric.

People tend to associate their personal identity too closely with whichever team they support such that they essentially see themselves as that team. When their team is criticized, the person feels as if they were personally attacked and there is a powerful emotional response resulting in a knee-jerk need to defend themselves and their team even when the criticism may be valid.

I have no illusion that I've rid myself completely of bias, or that I ever will, but I think with everything that's happened over the last year and a half I've reduced my bias against Republicans, and reduced my bias in favor of Democrats, if only a little.

See with eyes unclouded :)

Swing and a dribbler down the line!

Underhanded easy play at 1st!

a. To treat with ridicule or contempt; deride: was mocked for contradicting himself; mocked her superficial understanding of the issues. See Synonyms at ridicule.
b. To imitate in fun or derision: mocked his high-pitched voice.
c. To mimic or resemble closely: a whistle that mocks the call of seabirds.

Enjoy the rest of your day, and please remember to not drink and drive!

Here's a "funny" show Rotten Clinton was willing to show up for. The scripting is breathtakingly obvious and the effect will be counterproductive. Just not fun at all (except maybe for the "I once took LSD 40 years ago which still makes me cool today - do you want me to tell you the name of that plant in the background"-crowd).
