Hillary Clinton is Done: part 3

as opposed to the actual horror show for which the Clinton's are responsible and that is the subject of the thread.

I've said it before Hillary is in it for the long con, and it is laughable that someone who championed welfare reform and the superpredator law is calling someone else rfacist.

own it Hillary.

The Long Con? What a joke. You mean Hillary was planning this when she was 16? What do you call Trump's scams on Trump University Students or his use of debt to force his vendors to accept less then their contracted bill?

Other than a single comment 20 years and a welfare reform bill of her husband's, you can't name anything can you?
FYI:
The Welfare Reform Act of 1996.

The bill was a cornerstone of the Republican Contract with America and was introduced by Rep. E. Clay Shaw, Jr. (R-FL-22). President Bill Clinton signed PRWORA into law on August 22, 1996, fulfilling his 1992 campaign promise to "end welfare as we have come to know it".[1]
This was the third welfare reform bill that landed on Bill Clinton's desk during his first term. Clinton VETOED the first two. Only 5 Republicans out 287 voted against the bill whereas 57 Democrats out of 238 voted for it.
Clinton was not happy with the bill believing it to be too conservative, but also believed that he would not be able to veto a third bill considering it was one of his campaign promises

FYI: Hillary had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with any of the details of that bill. ZERO...ZIP...ZILCH. It was written by Republicans and introduced by the GOP and Bill Clinton signed it in 1996. Newt Gingrich, Trump's advisor was the major force in the passage of that bill.

I could come up with a far longer list than those of offensive things she's said about black people, in general or in particular - *and* I still am not satisfied with her current platform.

And having said that, the notion that somehow voting for a white nationalist like Trump is an answer is absolutely ridiculous.

Certainly not the racist!

Plus I am on record as stating I will never vote for anyone who voted for the Iraq War resolution, so Kaine and Unable are out of the picture.

But this thread isn't about me.

Well they ruled out Trump too.

That leaves the libertarian and Green Party. Which one are you voting for? I'm curious.

HRC is by no means perfect, but her work for and with African Americans is very good. Has she said certain things that outside of the context of who this woman has PROVEN herself to be could be construed negative towards African Americans? Sure. But Hillary has more than proven herself to not being bigoted.

I'm not so sure - I can think of quite a few comments back in 08 that I, and many other black Americans, took offense to (I won't burden her with, say, Geraldine Ferraro's far worse comments, since Ferraro ended up getting cut off). Putting all that aside, I'm more concerned about policy than her personal beliefs and feelings, and my major concern is police reform, and I'd like to see a day 1 plan on it. And simply taking a page from Sanders' "I marched with King!" strategy won't cut it.

But one thing I will grant her is that, in her last major speech, she cut through the garbage about how Trump was "reaching out to black Americans" (he is not), and gave a good, though not exhaustive, argument for what he actually is - namely, a white nationalist who cares nothing for black Americans, or any other non-white group. That may come in handy in the future.

Funny, it would seem the Black Caucus at the time didn't think it was racist. I don't recall any big calls about Clinton's racism at the time. In fact, the Clintons remained popular among blacks at the time and in the primary.

Analysis: Black Leaders Supported Clinton's Crime Bill

Black Americans Supported the 1994 Crime Bill, Too
Many black leaders saw the notoriously harsh law as an imperfect solution to unbearable levels of urban crime.

Did Blacks Really Endorse the 1994 Crime Bill?
Black support for anti-crime legislation was highlighted, while black criticism of the specific legislation was tuned out. The caucus threatened to stall the bill, but lawmakers scrapped the Racial Justice Act when Republicans promised to filibuster any legislation that adopted its measures.

In final negotiations, Democratic leadership yielded to Republicans demanding that prevention (or “welfare for criminals” as one called it) be sliced in exchange for their votes.
Clinton compromised to get legislation passed and now the side demanding the compromise is blaming the people that gave in to their demands.

Donald Trump (to Blacks): You should vote for me. I'm not a bigot. Hillary is a bigot.
Large majority of Blacks: We don't think Hillary is a bigot.
Donald Trump: That's because you're all so stupid and brainwashed.

I can discuss a *lot* about the overall mood in, at least, my neighborhood at the time leading up to the 94 crime bill - but it's another topic, and not at all what I was discussing. As far as police reform, it's the same stance that I held for Sanders and O'Malley as well - and I withheld my vote from all of them in the primary because none of them stood ahead or were good enough for me. I think it's long overdue (probably going back to at least the 1960s - I got the talk during the Reagan Era), BLM has already pushed through a remarkable number of reforms, and i'd like to see ideas and a commitment to get working on it ASAP.

But the primary's over now, Trump's only real promise is "tougher police for black Americans" which is the exact wrong answer. I'll likely vote for Hillary in the end (unless either Stein or Johnson manage to really wow me - which they wont), but I'm not fully satisfied with what she's said so far.

And yes, I've looked at her website, and listened to her speeches. If it puts me well to the left of what's reasonable - I'm willing to be that kind of voter, then.

Wasn't she instead refering to a specific subgroup of black people?

A certain subset of gang members, as I recall. Understandable at the time (it's worth noting that people in many black communities were terrified that the entire community would be torn apart by crack and brutal crime - I think a lot of the folks protesting and objecting the most are simply too young to remember the crack era), but incorrect.

(The word "Superpredator" was originally made for a supposed upcoming wave of sociopathic teenagers who would cause a new massive crime wave by...about 10 years ago. That was even more wrong).

I always wonder why people are so fixated on comments she makes. She's a politician, she'll say anything if it helps her. Things like the welfare reform bill actually kill black Americans. Being spoken to nice and non-offensively while being killed in an underhanded, almost invisible, way is not my idea of liberation.

And yes, I know that this bill was signed off by her husband - but does anyone really believe that she wouldn't have if it were her decision?

You don't know that.

And what's more, you seem to be unwilling to acknowledge that it received near universal Republican support. In fact, the bill was pushed through Congress by Newt Gingrich (BTW who names their kid after a lizzard?) It was opposed by about a 175 Democrats.
