Hillary Clinton is Done: part 2

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. I ask why she's dishonest and all I get is weird Kafka logic "she's dishonest because people think she's dishonest" nonsense.

I agree with this answer.

Oh, I interpreted your question as equivalent to "how is Clinton dishonest" or perhaps "why do people think she's dishonest?" If you're asking why she is the way she is, i.e. dishonest, answering that requires a deep dive into her psyche. I think in part it's a genetic predisposition, in part it's due to her high intelligence (it takes brains to lie somewhat consistently), and in part it's due to her experience in getting away with lying most of her life. I've made this point before, but it's the same reason her husband was willing to have affairs and harass women despite the tremendous downside associated with being outed. He was able to use his political power to get away with it as governor of Arkansas, so he figured he the probability of getting away with it as President was also pretty high (and he was probably right).

Interesting little development, Trump makes ignorant comment that women need to be punished for having an abortion. Sanders in the town hall last night brushed it off as Trump being stupid (I didn't see it). Clinton in a follow up (because the comment was made during her segment on the town hall while Sanders had a chance to respond during his segment) was more outrage and taking such comments seriously.

Sanders demonstrated why despite being women friendly in his voting record, he was not endorsed by Planned Parenthood, Clinton was. It is a big deal. More than half the public polled are pro-choice. Women's right to birth control and abortion are being threatened in multiple states with these clinic closing laws.

Yes Trump has totally taken it back today (naturally), but the difference in the reactions of Sanders and Clinton are telling about why a woman POTUS might be better for women's issues than someone like Sanders.

Interesting. It seems that you're saying that Clinton is better at cynically exploiting a Kinsley gaffe by a Republican even though it means being condescending to women by assuming they should not have to take legal responsibility for their actions. Because, frankly, Trump's answer was completely reasonable. Pro-life people are mad at him for it because the claim makes anti-abortion laws a tougher sell, but at least he's not assuming women seeking abortions are helpless victims who lack agency.

In other words, Clinton is dishonest because people who dislike her assert that she is dishonest. As proof, they point to other assertions that she is dishonest made by people who don't like her. Actual evidence of dishonesty is not brought out; in fact, Clinton is the most honest of all current candidates for President, Republican or Democrat, when fact checked.

Republicans lie constantly and most of them aren't very smart.

Doubling down on a strategy that even Trump realized is a bad one?

Huh? I'm not anti-abortion. I just believe that if a woman seeks an illegal abortion, she is committing a crime and should be punished. That really shouldn't be controversial.

Is that why Trump walked it back? Or why no other politician (to my knowledge) has espoused such an idea?

Yes, if you're a whacktard that believes abortion is murder, it makes perfect sense to argue for punishment for the woman. But the whacktards don't actually argue this because they know it would be unpopular. And apparently Trump was unaware of that. Probably because he isn't pro life at all and was just telling the whacktards what he thought they want to hear.

As if Sanders isn't dishonestly exploiting the trade issue conflating Bill's NAFTA with Hillary's record, ignoring her vote against CAFTA and ignoring the good aspects of trade deals demonizing every aspect of them.

It's the nature of politics, nothing outrageous here.

And if you think Trump's answer was reasonable, you aren't paying attention. It was pure pandering and he got the sentiment of the pro-lifers wrong and had to backtrack. Clearly he was not giving his own actual POV.

The fact-checker stuff is silly. Politifact can fact-check anything they like, and given that they're biased towards liberals, they will tend to fact-check those statements by Hillary which are probably true and not fact-check those which are likely to be false.

As for evidence, the op-ed I linked, which was from 20 years ago, laid out in considerable detail evidence of Hillary's dishonesty. You, too, may be too young to know the details, but her behavior during the Whitewater investigations was outrageous. Hiding documents which were under subpoena, committing perjury, suborning perjury. She checked all the boxes. The stuff about her cattle futures trading was particularly laughable. When she realized that the obvious bribe that she accepted might look to the public as if it were a bribe, she concocted a story about how she studied the Wall Street Journal to learn about the cattle futures market, and she was really proud of her trading success. Of course, it was a complete fantasy, not dissimilar from her claim to have come under sniper fire in Bosnia. She probably had no idea what her benefactor was even trading during 10 months when $100,000 of "profits" were racked up.

More recently, of course, her lies have been too numerous even to list. Yes, she's campaigning, and all politicians exaggerate, mislead, or even lie in order to advance their candidacy. But her lies are just so brazen, that it's almost breathtaking.

But that presupposes that abortion is illegal, which hardly seems like "not anti-abortion" position. Or do you think that some wicked women will seek illegal abortions in preference to legal ones?

Trump's answer was reasonable. I didn't say that Trump was reasonable. The answer stands on its own merits. And, yes, I agree that Trump is probably pro-choice, if he even gives a rat's ass about the issue at all.

I realize that to a partisan, fact checking is silly; you have your narrative, and facts be damned. I'm commenting for those that, like Travis, have asked for evidence of your subjective claims.

More proof that Hillary is unfit for office

Stupid Hillary supporters Think Their Lives are getting Better
a new survey from Pew Research highlights what could be an even more crucial divide: how voters feel about the trajectory of their own lives...

There’s a significant gap just between the two parties, with Republicans 38 points more likely than Democrats to say things are getting worse. But the gulf is even wider between Trump supporters, who are the most pessimistic, and Clinton supporters, who are the most personally optimistic...

a troubling sign for Democrats that overall, by a 12-point margin, voters view life as getting worse, and that less than a third believe the economy is excellent or good.

Hillary Clinton Loses Patience with Greenpeace Activist Over Fossil Fuel Donations

Following an event in New York, a frustrated Hillary Clinton (fuming and waving her finger) said she was "so sick" of the Sanders campaign alleging that she accepts donations from the fossil fuel industry.

"I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me. I'm sick of it."

I'm sure Hillary will be sending media matters after her now.

Notice how Slick Hilly dodged the question, and turned it into a spittle soaked attack on Bernie.

Gee Slings and Arrows, and you're usually so negative about Clinton. Or are those two posts in keeping with the date?

I thought it was about time for Clinton to respond more forcefully to the continued insinuation she's in the pocket of big money.
