Hezbollah: take that

For future reference:

Hezbollah= a Lebanese Islamist group, with a military arm and a civilian arm, founded in 1982 to fight the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon.

Lebanon=A country set up by france with the theory that the Druze would always have a majority and therefor be able to run it. Due to differing birth rates things didn't quite turn out like that.

I not thrilled that things came to this, and will assuredly get far worse before things get better. It's a damned tragedy, but in the same way a loved one dying of a long disease is a tragedy. You knew it was coming long before it happened.

That said, I'm glad Israel is taking the fight to Hamas and Hezbollah, instead of the reverse situation that has been status quo for more than 20 years. Why? Because Israel has leafletted Beirut, telling innocent people to stay away from Hezbollah targets. Because Israel is striking those Hezbollah targets as precisely as they can. Ditto the Gaza operations.

That, in case anyone doesn't catch the difference, is why a military operation should never be confused with a terrorist operation.

Ah why? Mass targeting of civilians has historicaly been quite a popular militry tactic. On the other hand Hezbollah have tended to target mitilitry stuff such as the SLA.

And Israel didn't drop leaflets telling Lebanon citizens to stay away for Hezballah(sp?).

Nice job of trying to sympathize with a terrorist group. Makes me sick.

A good a spelling as any, and better than "Hezbollah."

Nice job of trying to sympathize with a terrorist group. Makes me sick.

Nice job of smearing everyone with a different perspective as "sympathizing with a terrorist group." Makes me far more sick, I assure you.

That's what I meant by "oh yeah." Nicely said, thx

The fact that he actually was expressing sympathy being completely irrelevant to you.

Oh goody, the attention whores are here already claiming up is down and left is right.

If I was able, I'd just delete this thread, as it's no doubt going to digress even further. Time for the ol' "unsubscribe" function.

ok then

‮حزب الله‬

but that messes up the page and I don't think most people would recognise "Party of God"

I belive the RAF tried the leaflet droping thing. Kept the Germans in toilet paper.

Nice job of trying to sympathize with a terrorist group.

Withdraw that acusation now.

Makes me sick.

Strange. Generaly I don't find people disagreing with me sickening.

Historically, so has raping and pillaging. I was speaking contemporaneously.

On the other hand Hezbollah have tended to target mitilitry stuff such as the SLA.

In other words, they have tended to cast the first stone? And their "military targeting" could use some refinement. Those 300 rockets in 2 days have been aimed at... er, what, again?

Let's see if the Lebanese are that stupid. I sincerely hope not.

For what it's worth, even though I disagree with your position I don't see it as apologist.

Reads fine for me. Make sure your browser is set to auto-detect character encoding.

Still popular. Mass killing of civilians exists in the militry doctrine of most major world powers.

In other words, they have tended to cast the first stone?

No they were formed after Israel invaded.

The 9K51 Grad is not a pinpoint weapon.

In fact so far Isreal appears to have killed more civilians (I don't know how the figures stand with regard to injuries). Hezbollah have killed 8 Israeli soldiers. I'm yet to see a death toll of Hezbollah militants that I belive.

Oh I can read it fine but if I try to put anything else on that line I'm likely to end up with stuff in the wrong place to the reverseing thing.

Oh, yeah, Unicode has done wonders for non-Latin-based character sets, but I still have yet to see an OS handle right-to-left typing particularly well. Especially if you try to mix RTL text with LTR text.

Yet it is still the weapon of choice this week. What does this tell you about the degree of care with which Hezbollah choses targets?

Yeah, asymmetrical warfare's a bitch when it cuts both ways, ain't it? Makes one wonder why Hezbollah hasn't returned the hostages they snatched while murdering 3 soldiers in their own country.

Maybe Hezbollah doesn't care if their fellow citizens die. And they're supposed to be on the same side... with friends like that, etc. etc.

I'm yet to see a death toll of Hezbollah militants that I belive.

They would be easier to pick out if they wore uniforms and didn't hide behind children. You know, if they didn't act like the cowardly terrorist scum they are. But that ship has already sailed... and each one punched his own ticket.

Edited to correct the number of Israelis murdered on their own soil.
