Her Majesty Caroline New Improved "Hi, Bob" Drinking Game

Local paper claimed over the weekend that Patterson is getting fed up with all the lobbying and is considering appointing a caretaker (Bill Clinton and Mario Cuomo were mentioned) and letting all the interested parties duke it out in the election 2 years from now.

Not that Patterson can appoint someone until "Snipery" Hillary officially vacates her seat, but the delay has forced Caroline to speak without relying on her usual crutches. This works to Patterson's benefit as it allowed Caroline to commit political suicide, thereby giving him cover to move in another direction.

There should be a special election rather than an appointment, but that's a seperate issue.

So when ever any seat becomes open it should mandate a special election? It will result in there being an open seat for much longer.

The point is that she is only being included at the top of the list of prospects because her father was JFK and her uncle is Ted. Of course she has control over using her family name for self aggrandizement. Caroline's family name was the only cache Obama valued in her endorsement of him. If she were Caroline Finkelstein do you think Obama would be pressuring Patterson to select her to fill "Snipery" Hillary's Senate seat?

ANd who would W be with out his dad?

I do not want to see any more Bush's, Clinton's or Kennedy's occupying any political office.

But where would Bush 41 be without his father Prescott Bush? But all three Bush's did actually run for their elected positions.

So you are not against her or her family getting this position as much as anyone getting appointed?

It would be about as wrong to promote someone from representing a district to a state.

I am not for her, I just don't see what the big deal is.

Of course I am not a fan of the Kennedy clan, but even Patterson admits the obvious and still Caroline expects the political favor to Obama to pay off, and now.

Kennedy's "lack of elected experience does not help her,” he said, “but the point is, it's the combination of experiences I'll look at in terms of all the candidates, and also how balanced the ticket would look."

And Cumo has now over taken Caroline in New York popularity polls:

December 9th
44/23 Kennedy

January 4th
54/34 Cuomo

"Last month almost twice as many Democrats said they wanted to see Kennedy appointed to the Senate as said they preferred Cuomo. Now he has a 20 point advantage within the party"

So how can Patterson justify selecting Camelot Caroline without admitting it is a political pay-off ala Blago bingo?

By stating that after due consideration that he is choosing the person that he thinks is best for the job, rather than slavishly responding to popularity polls.

He may choose neither.

Imagine the press conference where Patterson announces that he has made his decision and says to the msm, "I carefully considered all the candidates interested in Hillary's vacated Senate seat and have offered the position to Caroline (Carolyn)................Maloney."

That pause would be priceless.

I don't think Patterson would have made it as far as he has in politics if he were that stupid.

Almost all people have idiosyncracies when they speak. Some people it's as simple as "uh" (observe Johnathon Demme accepting his Oscar) others repeat the same word or phrase constantly "ya know." Personally, I have a habit of saying "it's like" frequently and calling someone "dude" when I'm talking to them. After some training and classes I've stopped doing it in formal settings and do it only in casual situations. Hopefully, the substance of what someone is saying is more important than their idiosyncracies when speaking to a group.

Too bad Caroline didn't seek the same treatment that you did for your obnoxious speech habits. However, even if one subtracted the stupefying eccentricities from the mix, as the AP did, Caroline has not demonstrated any intelligence or perspicacity in her musings.

We are not talking about a speech impediment or stuttering that might undermine the content of the message. Caroline is just vapid and soporific.

Camelot Caroline struggles to answer 10 year-old Damon Weaver's questions.

DW: "Do you think Senator Biden is long winded?"

CK: "Well, when I saw (sic) he wasn't"

DW: "What do you like to do for fun?"

CK: "I like to campaign for Barack Obama."

The "ah's" and "um's" swamped her two "you know's."

As soon as "Snipery" Hillary is confirmed by the Senate tomorrow(?), Patterson will announce his decision. Aside from the famous quirky Camelot Caroline language lapses, the Village Voice exposes Patterson's odds on favorite as nothing more than a flake.

"The dissembling that misrepresents Kennedy's DOE service has been extended to every phase of her life. She told the Times: "I've written seven books—two on the Constitution, two on American politics." But she's penned only two (both with a co-author who is, unlike her, a legal scholar), and edited five others that were collections of everything from her mother's favorite poems to other writers' essays about political courage. She has repeatedly referred to herself as a lawyer in her recent appearances, though she's never practiced law and even let her registration with the Bar Association lapse for years.

Though she wrote in A Patriot's Handbook that "the day I feel most proud to be an American is not the Fourth of July, but Election Day," she's missed half of the elections since 1988. She even failed to vote in 1994 for her in-law Mario Cuomo, when at least four other Kennedys campaigned for Cuomo in the race of his life. She skipped the Democratic primary in 1989, when David Dinkins was the first black person nominated for mayor, and the general election in 2002, when Carl McCall was the first black person ever to appear on the statewide gubernatorial ballot as the candidate of a major party. She didn't vote when Liz Krueger broke the three-decade hold the GOP had on the East Side state senate district in two 2002 elections (a February special and a November general) that propelled Paterson to become minority leader later that year. Yet she expects the state's first black governor to put her in the Senate, ignoring the contradiction between her published declaration—written at the very same moment that she missed the 2002 election—that the "right to vote is perhaps the critical right in a democracy, an opportunity as well as an obligation."

Now that Camelot Caroline has supposedly dropped out of contention, and now that Obama is in the Oval Office, what will Caroline do for "fun?"
