Head of Globovision faces arrest again

OK if you want.
they are off topic and they don't backup your claim.

No DC, they're quite on topic. The topic is Hugo Chavez and his abuse of law to silence criticism, as exampled by the event in the OP. Those articles are spot on.

Your comments please.

i gave my opinion to the OP already :)

have fun :)

DC ran away...
bravely ran away away ...
when the facts reared their ugly head, DC bravely turned his tail and fled ...

oh lol kiddy, how old are you?

i have stated my opinion about your OP. i said i think Chavez is wrong in abusing the laws to silence the media.

i then asked someone to backup a strange claim, and suddenly end up have to comment on a huge bunch of accusations presented from a source i usualy like a lot, but is labeled a unreliable source when you go look in the Israel/Palestine threats.

i even have already state that i hope the Bolivarian movement finds a new head. But still you say Chavez is my hero.... and what

I love a lot of things the Bolivarian movement has reached, mostly things you never ever heard of.
i also dislike a lot things they have done and i dislike a lot more what Chavez has said and done. while i like other things he said.
I am not the blindly following believer following some sort of messias, like you like me to paint.

play your games with someone else

and now i walk away , and don't run :)

But this thread isn't about the "bolivarian revolution", but Chávez, and here you are putting your head in the sand again about his conduct.

Is Obama trying to shut up Limbaugh? Is he trying to find things about him that could be used against him in court? Was Bush trying to shut up Olberman? Was he raiding his office and home, and placing warrants on his son?

Is what Chávez doing a normal behavior a head of state should be having? Is it the job of a president to be having a personal war against one single individual who is critical of him, and using the state's police and court to take him down?

And yet you defend him. Strange.

Maybe that's because you offered nothing but attempts at derail the discussion and divert attention away from his wrongdoings. You used logical fallacies to try to show Chavez somehow isn't doing anything particularly special and therefore not doing anything very wrong. You even cited a Swiss law that would, under your extremely creative interpretation, make that guy liable in a democratic country. You attempted to hint other countries are "just as bad" more than once in this thread.
But sure, you also stated a few times his actions "look suspicious" and that you don't defend him. The trouble is you fight for his reputation, tooth and nail. You don't get off that by saying you don't REALLY support him you know :)

The irony is that those folks (DC and Childlike) were the ones accusing Bush of stifling free speech and changing the US into a police state back when he was president. Of course none of that happened.

That's exactly what's going on in Venezuela and Iran, and those two are their prime apologists.

Bush should have just declared he is an "anti-imperialist revolutionary" and he'd have gotten a free ride from some people even if he did plan 9/11 and declared himself a dictator. It's all for the good cause of destroying the evil capitalist oppressors, so who cares about a few lousy "freedom of speech" and "democracy" thingies?

I'm not apologizing for Chavez. I made my position clear in the "Send in the Tanks" thread, and what i'm doing now is occasionally laughing at you parroting the latest spin, but most of the time ignoring the same old, same old threads.

Then why did you call Zuloaga a criminal? Isn't it still innocent until proven guilty?

And could you answer my question I asked to DC?

Is it the president's job to use the state's police and courts to wage a personal war against individuals?

Where did i call Zuloaga a criminal? And why should i answer a question you asked DC? And why do you still have that Santa Claus caricature as your avatar? Questions over questions...

wtf?????????

i have said i don't agree with that he is doing............

no a president should not do that.
what else do you want?

It's implicit in your post that you take the Venezuelan government's assertion that the owner is guilty of the crimes he is accused of.

Or is it one other instances of your doublespeak? You're saying he's a criminal and you're saying he's not...

And why should i answer a question you asked DC?
Because I'm asking you, and it is the subject of this thread.

what else do you want?

Then stop defending his regime in this thread.

i did not defend him because i do disagree with him doing it.

As McHrozni said, all you've done in this thread is to divert the attention away from the key issue, and to apologize for him.

Why do you keep coming back everytime his name is mentioned?

And will you answer to Wildcat's links?

You can repeat it again and again and again, DC, Pardalis will never get his brain around this fact. The difficulty of course not being looking up the facts - but accepting that his "quality media" is not honest with him. Poor chap.

Could you explain what you meant here, Childlike?

Are the facts different on your end about this story?

Please share.

I have pointed out a vef points in his OP.
for example he laughed at a strange claim of chavez , and i pointed out that Chavez is only partly wrong.

i have showed it with the swiss laws. backed up my claims and he just claims thats a stretch of our laws... without him backing up his claims.....

i then point to an organisation that is actually working against Criminal defamation laws, and showed that indeed that is a problem around the world. and that Chavez claim that he would be jailed in other countries is not as wrong as he belives.

but i have stated that i also do not agree with the law and especially when the law is abused for political reason like in Chavez's case.
