Hamas wants to kill all Jews?

If you found a picture of David Duke shaking hands with a Alan Keyes, would you cite this as proof he isn't a racist? Because this seems to be on the same level.

interesting point. i do believe that Duke has met with NOI folks...and others who believe in racial seperation.

Is this blog some sort of weather vane for the right wing of Israeli politics? .

No, but it IS what comes up in google when you enter "neo-zionist", which was obviously what parky did after people pointed out to him that he doesn't really mean anything by "neo zionist" and just uses it as a term of abuse.

So he googled the term, found out the most (in his view) "bad" group that uses it, and claims THAT is what he "always meant" by it.

He now has to, embarrassingly, pretend to know something about this group (something that doesn't come up on google or a web page), and can't do it.

Actually, I decided to do the work Parky should have done and found a wiki page for neo-Zionism. It appears to be a right-wing movement, usually religiously based, that wants Israel's borders as defined by the Bible (although, I'm not sure they are ever clearly defined there). They also seem to be not so crazy about sharing the land with Arabs.

So, Parky may have just put two words together, but it seems other people have done so as well and given the new term a definition.

But, I still don't get how Hamas taking pictures with the Jewish version of an Uncle Tom somehow negates their very own words and actions.

And the Pope and Hezbollah are in on the game, according to a booklet "distributed by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, in cooperation with the chief rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu"

Cue the rolleyes smilie

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1101158.html

The Pope and the cardinals of the Vatican help organize tours of Auschwitz for Hezbollah members to teach them how to wipe out Jews, according to a booklet being distributed to Israel Defense Forces soldiers.

Officials encouraging the booklet's distribution include senior officers, such as Lt. Col. Tamir Shalom, the commander of the Nahshon Battalion of the Kfir Brigade.

The booklet was published by the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, in cooperation with the chief rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu, and has been distributed for the past few months.

[...] The IDF Spokesman's Office said in a statement: "The book was received as a donation and distributed in good faith to the soldiers. After we were alerted to the sensitivity of its content, distribution was immediately halted."

Except that they went there to provide evidence that the Holocaust happened. Such views were invited.

Why did they invite this particular sect? The evidence is overwhelming, any Jew or non-Jew could have presented the evidence of the Holocaust well enough.

Why them of all people?

BTW, by this are you trying to say the Iranian conference was balanced and fair?

This is very telling about you. It wreaks of apologism.

"See, Holocaust deniers aren't so bad, they are open to discussion, they invited those weirdos to see the other side of the 'issue'... "

I would assume because they are anti-Israel, but no official reason is given.

There were others invited, including an Arab historian who was enventually denied entry ostensibly because it turned out he had an Israeli passport.

It's recorded at wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern..._the_Global_Vision_of_the_Holocaust#Attendees

which links to this story about a Canadian professor who attended:
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2006/12/13/professor-holocaust061213.html

In an interview with the Globe and Mail published Wednesday, Dossa said he did not realize beforehand he would be part of an exercise in anti-Semitism, and repeatedly stated his belief that the genocide of six million Jews during the Second World War is a historical fact. Dossa called anyone who disputes the slaughter of Jews during the Second World War a "lunatic."

So he also doesn't deny the Holocaust.

It's very telling that you should jump to this conclusion about a statement of fact: The views of Naturei Karta were known before hand, they were invited.

I responded because it seemed that it could be inferred from the question that Naturei Karta went to the conference to deny the Holocaust. They did not.

My response had nothing to do with defending the conference -- I condemn it just like I condemn websites which do the same. But I see no reason to vilify those who went there and reported facts -- any more than I would condemn any member of JREF who joins a thread started by a Holocaust denier (or even goes so far as to post at a place like Stormfront) to correct the bigotted ideas there.

You are reluctant to use your imagination all of a sudden?

OK, so your contributions to this thread was as the great defender of the Neturei Karta?

Good.

Odd, but good.

If we return to the OP, I wonder if Parky is also willing to deduce that the KKK weren't really that bad. After all, they played baseball against a team of Jews. Twice:
It also turns out that the September, 1926 game between the Hebrews and the Klan wasn't the only time Abe Povich played against an anti-Semitic group. Larry Povich, one of Abe's sons, reports that he was often told about a game against a group of racists that the Hebrews actually won. After the last out, the opposing team turned serious and the Hebrews -- especially Abe's friend and teammate, Vinney the catcher -- began to worry. "They felt that they were in trouble because he said [the racists] had picked up their bats at, what they thought was, an inappropriate time. And they were coming after them," Larry said. Turns out the white supremacists were sore losers.

"It's very vivid in my mind in terms of how I imagine Vinney getting in this old truck, firing it up as they had to do in those days, and driving across a field on the mall, not too far from the Lincoln Memorial," Larry recalled. "The story that stuck in my mind was dad running across the infield towards the outfield and Vinney sweeping through the field picking up the Jewish guys -- dad and the other players on their team -- who were being chased the racists."

Anyway, just wanted to point out that one should not try to deduce far reaching conclusions out of one factoid. It is important to look at the whole picture. Oh, and I also thought it would be nice to bring up this weird anecdote.

Sad. For 9 innings, they were all just players in a game.

This simply reaffirms my idea that the world should just play one big continuous game of baseball.

i think Hamas is very bad. they are a terrorist organization who's leaders should be tried for crimes against humanity.

i just don't believe they seek the death of all the Jews on Earth...or even in Israel.

And yet their political manifest includes a religious statement that all Jews need to be killed to bring the end of days. (Which seems to be something that one should want. Don't ask me why.) Moreover, Hamas members have discussed this on Palestinian TV. I fail to see why they deserve a pass on that. Shouldn't we expect them to remove that part from their charter and to declare publicly that Jews need not be killed to bring the end of days?

One the other hand, I am not sure that Hamas had performed crimes against humanity. Most likely due to lack of ability. Murder, sure. War crimes, yes. But not crimes against humanity.

Hamas and Fatah both are directly culpable in the deaths of 2,000 so-called Palestinians over the past few years, which probably constitutes crimes against humanity. If the IDF had been responsible, there would be international condemnation. But, in this case, not a peep.
