'we' ?? Who is we?
Oh you mean that little bunch of cowardly Israel apologists who resort to personal attacks an lies when their arguments are shown to be BS.
Gotcha!!
Are you suggesting right-wing Israeli apologists are also truthers?
=)

Earlier, it was said by several people that the Israeli government does not allow independent journalists into the war zone. Is that correct?
You have no idea what you are talking about do you? What kind of silly thinking would say there would greater international outrage had Israel attempted to individually take out the hamas fighters, thus keeping the civilian casualties at a bare minimum or even zero, compared to the outrage of a disproportionate artillery shelling?

Wasn't me dude.
And noticed how a couple of hamas fighter is turned into a "hamas stronghold"
Perhaps, at some point, a "two state solution" will be acceptable to a majority on both sides. Right now, it isn't. It seems that enough people on both sides are rather picky about exactly which parcels of land are to be included in "their" state.
This script has been repeated numerous times since 1973 (the last "real" war in the region). Both sides have played their parts predictably every time. Since that is the case, it stands to reason that both sides are getting something out of their behavior. Either side could change the script.
Gumboot and I have noted that it just wouldn't work like that. If you review the thread you might find others. Gumboot is much more knowledgable about military matters than I. You might like to ask Darth Rotor's opinion if you think Gumboot and I are wrong.
Thanks for the patronization and the lecture.
It's laughable you talk about lack of substance, when you're posts contain exactly that.
You have completely failed to try and fool the thread that you are here to educate.
Your arguments are the one's that are stupid. Very stupid. but carry on your tit for tat exchange why don't ya.
I totally disagree with your conclusion here. You're ignoring numerous efforts by Israel to change the script, which likewise failed. Israel has tried an enormous variety of approaches over the last 30 or so years and none have worked. If you look at both this latest offensive, and the 2006 war, they came only at the end of an exhaustive string of violations by the enemy, after a long string of failed peaceful efforts by Israel. Say what you want, but Israel clearly are trying. The problem is everyone just expects them to blindly and meekly follow the peaceful path regardless of what the other side is doing. Often even their non-violent and passive efforts are rejected by the international community as too violent (such as building a wall to protect their territory).
I've been posting here for nearly two years, and not once have I seen a critic of Israel offer a practical solution to the problem.
A top Israeli official has claimed that Ariel Sharon's Gaza withdrawal plan was deliberately formulated to block peace negotiations with Yasser Arafat. "The significance of the plan is the freezing of the peace process," Dov Weisglass told Haaretz newspaper, adding the US had given its backing.
Here is a list of minor attacks by Palestinians in just a 2 year period:It just seems to me that both sides are playing from a very familiar script.
An Arab group (Hamas. Hezbollah, the PLO, whoever it is this year) launches a minor* attack into Israel. The IDF threatens for a while, and then responds with a massive retaliation. IDF casualties are light. Civilian casualties are heavy.

It would only take 5 years before the government would be controlled by Palestinians. That would be the end of Israel. Israel will never accept that situation. This is a change from years past, when there were more Arabs than Jews in that part of the world.
A naive solution to the problem would be for Israel to annex all the territory that makes up the PNA, and declare everyone who lives there citizens of Israel, and insist that all citizens have equal rights.
For some reason, that seems to be unacceptable. Oh...well then. Carry on. The current war should be over in a week or so. The next one should start this summer, or maybe they'll take a year off.
I think you are naive.
Olmert recently stated, the dream of "eretz Israel" is dead. Not back when Oslo was signed, but only last year. Wasn't that dream supposed to be over with Oslo? http://www.counterpunch.org/avnery10072008.html
Sharon blocked Peace talks.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3720176.stm
Gaza was to be placed in formaldehyde, that is, no resolution of the Palestinian issue, Gaza was to be frozen in the state it was in after the withdrawal of the settlers.
But he later added Israel was open to talks with other Palestinian leaders.
...
Speaking after the controversial interview was published, he said there had been no intention to freeze the "political process as such".
"But there was definitely an intention not to hold a political process with the PNA [Palestinian National Authority] in its present state," he told Israeli radio.
...
In the Haaretz interview, Mr Weisglass makes it clear that the disengagement plan derived from a sense of impending crisis about 12 months ago.
With Israel's economy stagnant and the rival Geneva Initiative being touted by Mr Sharon's political opponents, Mr Weisglass said the refusal by some servicemen and women to fight in the occupied territories was seen as the last straw.
"These were not weird kids with green ponytails and a ring in their nose with a strong odour of grass. These were... really our finest young people," he said.
None of these acts indicate to me a real committment to peace, but of toughing it out. It is only now that Olmert has finally stated that toughing it out isn't going to work. Such an attitude only vindicates the hardline stance taken in response.
The answer is simple. Israel wants peace. Palestine does not.
You should avoid making personal attacks. You are a useful idiot to Israel.
No. Hamas ought to refrain from setting up a firing position in and around a school full of kids. For the IDF, it is not smart tactics to offer your armed and firing opponent a free base from which to fire where you won't shoot at him, but it may at some times be smart politics. Depends.I kind of agree with TFT on that point, if they can know that rockets are being stored there, they must be aware of the civilians hiding there as well. That's a logical argument he is making.
The IDF should restrain from firing with that knowledge in mind, Geneva convention or not.
Gumboot and I have noted that it just wouldn't work like that.
