Cont: Greta Thunberg - brave campaigner or deeply disturbed - part 3

all of those would be crimes under international law and probably war crimes.
It's Gaza, not Israel that the boats will be landing at.
Blockades are a legitimate tactic in war. Sinking blockade runners is a legitimate tactic in war. G-Thunder can't have it both ways. She can't be a peaceful activist and a blockade runner at the same time.

And "crimes under international law and probably war crimes" are only worth what's enforced - so, worthless.

I know that "G-Thunder" was meant derogatorily, but honestly it just makes her sound awesome.
Of course it makes her sound awesome. Her entire shtick is sounding awesome to a certain audience. Like all those gangster rap artists with their gangster monikers. Please, by all means, normalize calling her G-Thunder unironically. I give you full permission.

I like "Greta Thunboot" (works in German, anyway).

A blockade against humanitarian aid for a civilian population that poses no threat? Well OK then, but please call it what it is - genocide. If that's legitimate then so is anything they get back on them.

For a short moment in time the Israelis had the moral high ground. But as usual they soon squandered it. I blame Hitler for encouraging the formation of a Zionist state. Mind you he did eventually do the right thing, by killing Hitler. If only he had done it sooner...

How I see it, you can't have it both ways. You can't claim to be a non-threatening aid shipment and run a military blockade at the same time.

Isn't that just war? Didn't that happen in WWI and WWII?

Even when you are completely unarmed and crewed by civilian noncombatants?
You're begging the question that they're completely unarmed and crewed entirely by noncombatants. That there's no contraband or intelligence material or persons of interest aboard. The whole point of running a blockade is to avoid having to actually answer those questions. That's why it's a warlike and threatening act.

Israel feels threatened by a bunch of kids delivering food and diapers??? What a bunch of whiny pathetic snowflakes.

You're assuming that this and only this is in the flotilla. The whole point of running a military blockade is to avoid validating this assumption.

We know terrorists infiltrate and exploit civilian organizations. We know that if Gaza's coastline is left unsecured, resources will flow to Hamas from outside. There is no reason to trust anyone who sets out to run the blockade, no matter how noble and righteous they say they are.

Instead of "trust, but verify", you're saying, "don't verify, only trust." But it is exactly the blockade runners that should absolutely not be trusted without verification. That's the whole point of a blockade.

I have no problem with Israel stopping the boats checking them out but as long as there are no weapons, letting them through. There is starvation going on in Gaza and they need all the food they can get.

If the boats want to be stopped and inspected, they can dock in Israel and submit to inspection there. If they want to be sunk, they can try to run the blockade. It is not Israel's job to intercept, board, and inspect at sea a flotilla of blockade runners. Blockade runners are not entitled to that courtesy.

If this particular batch of retarded ass-clowns really believed Gazans need all the food they could get, they would be raising money to deliver food through the checkpoints, not to run blockades.

Israel has already said they will not allow the boats to Gaza even if they are inspected first in Israel.

This is about control, not security.

Nor should they. The aid can be transshipped from the port to the Gaza checkpoints just fine.

I agree. These people don't want Israel to be in control of Gaza's borders.

And you're probably the only person in the world who believes that Hamas would not get supplies from the sea, if Israel didn't control their coastline. So it's also about security.
