The way the GOP is running nominations/elections lately, you're probably right. It may be a decade or more before Democrats have any need to feel jealous of the Republicans.
Democrats always need to feel.
I'm not a resident right-winger but I'll take a shot at it:My question to the resident right wingers: Please list/tell specifically how this differs from what ACORN was vilified for?
...
What have I forgotten?
I'm not a resident right-winger but I'll take a shot at it:
What have I forgotten?
- ACORN was not funded by the DNC, Strategic Allied Consulting (SAC) was funded by the RNC
- There was no history of ACORN voter fraud, there was extensive evidence of previous SAC fraud. In fact, the RNC asked SAC to change their corporate name to hide the stink
- ACORN had a quality control program in place to catch errors, SAC did not
- ACORN flagged suspicious registrations to alert voter registration officials, SAC did not
- ACORN (to the best of my knowledge) did not refuse Republican registration, SAC did not register Dems.
- ACORN did not discard Republican registrations, SAC tossed Democratic registrations
- ACORN was dragged through the mud by the "liberal" (*snort*) press while the SAC story has seen relatively little coverage
- The ACORN "scandal" went to Congress with speeches of outrage and legislation, none of that has happened with SAC
- The Dems have not been pushing voter fraud while the GOP has, at the state and federal level, invested considerable energy in combating a non-existent problem. I would guess more voter fraud has been committed by SAC than in the last decade of national AND state elections.
- ACORN took corrective action, SAC has not.
- ACORN was subject to external investigation, SAC has not yet been
The highlighted facts are the crux of the matter. ACORN complied with a law requiring all forms being turned in, to avoid forms from the "wrong" party being thrown out. throwing out legitimate forms from real voters is 1000000x worse than turning in a flagged from trying to register Micky Mouse.I'm not a resident right-winger but I'll take a shot at it:

Looks to me like something that fits the Republic Party philosophy to a tea*.Seems to me that Republicans should be troubled by the deal their party made with SAC. Turning over all responsibility for voter registration in five battleground states to a company with a bad reputation doesn't seem like what a well managed campaign would do. It looks a lot more like someone tossing a contract to a buddy so he could make a quick buck.
