Mmmm, Dumplings!

I learned to make my own back in Taiwan, and on NFL Sundays when I returned to New York, I'd make a batch of fifty or sixty wrappers, and then stuff 'em and boil 'em about 8 to 10 at a time, but wind up eating the whole load by the end of the games five or six hours later. Considering that the total filling ingredients added up to almost two kilos, I was amazed that I could eat that many even through a whole day. (I love a good hamburger, but I don't think I'd consume four pounds of them in an afternoon.)I still think of boiled "water dumplings" every time someone talks about getting together to watch football.

Steamed buns, oth, are just too much work, and I can get them on any streetcorner in Hong Kong, so I haven't tried to make them in years.

Back to the Golden Whatever.... Does anyone really believe this crap?

Yes he is a con artist as he wants to sell books. And I did shut down his discussion board about two years ago, because the moderators got frustrated when they had no answers.

I have stopped posting because I have only so much time and I have more important things to do in my life (like staring out the window at the snow and humming quietly to myself). ;)

I have expressed the concept from time to time that we do a public service by engaging with kooks as that it keeps them from bothering the general public. (And the say Atheists have no morality!):D
 
Well, I'm done with DJJ. I posted a long response to his latest posting with a list of all the things about which he was mistaken, and ending with an explanation of why I wouldn't continue the discussion.

I was however curious what his response to that would be, so I went back to check, only to discover that he had edited my post rather than replying to it (by accident, he says) changing some of my words, and deleting the last three paragraphs. So I made one last post, which I am adding below, just for posterity, and so that he can't change it and claim I didn't say it.

Just for the record, you did change some of my words, and the last three paragraphs are missing. These contained my description of how poor your methodology is, describing it as ANTIscientific.

However, the replies in that post demonstrate quite amply what I was talking about. Where have I ever addressed biology or geometry for you to pass judgement on my ability in those disciplines? I haven't, so your statement about my ability in those disciplines is utterly unfounded.

Hit the edit button by mistake eh? Freud would have had something to say about that.

As I said in that post (in one of the missing paragraphs) I shall not be continuing this discussion, particularly now that you've demonstrated that you can edit my posts at will.

Yeah, I know that ultimately you're right. But it still burns me up when our forum is exploited by self-important, pretentious, ignorant fools like DJJ, full of false condescension and unwilling (or unable) to engage in meaningful discussion of their ideas. This guy is using us for the bandwidth, to give him a venue in which to preach. And because of our own intellectual honesty, we can't just pull the plug on 'im, which would be sooooo satisfying. :mad:

I think you are right, I didn;t respond to your last paragraphs because they were redundant and I didn;t have the time, but as mentioned it was hardly intentionmal you were just being repetitive and rather than being scientific, you choose to negate my method of arriving at facts through trying and testing... in the real world.
but do notice you leave out whole segments of what I write you and only Quote what you think you can counter. I MUST fionnish that geometry of chemistry, because you can;t deny that, and I have seen it no where else in books or on the net, and may have come up with it myself via the Lord's INSIGHTS. You see Wolley, I have someone to teach me you rely on your old university and old journals in your segregated unconnected field, which is why you have such limits to new insights and connections.
