Going to a psychic medium party

How do you know that these feelings could not be fooled?

How do you know that s/he was infallible?

You don't believe that bad things happen to people at all? Not even those who aren't "spiritual minded", whom evil can approach?
.

I don't absolutely know if my feelings could fooled but I do not think they were wrong.
The mediums I have known possessed some authoritative knowledge and I believe some could talk directly to the spirit world. They were clairaudient and clairvoyant. So they got their information directly from spirits.

Obviously bad things happen to people but the spirit world teaches all things will ultimately be resolved, if not in this world then in the next.

The spirit world cannot change the world directly, only in subtle ways like influencing and inspiring people. This shows up more in times of great troubles like the war. I firmly believe the spirit world worked behind the scenes then and inspired Churchill's speeches. There is also the inspiration of the man who invented radio beams, he believed he was inspired. Also air chief marshal Lord Dowding's wife was a spiritualist.

But the spirit world cannot take away all suffering or we would not have the opportunity to spiritually evolve.
No.

The spirits could have provided clean water for an entire town and relieved suffering for hundreds of people versus buying a computer for an internet spokesperson?

The spirits are evil. You've been duped.

Were they working behind the scenes when he was massacring "savages" and putting them into British concentration camps to be tortured and murdered?

Well, no, indeed you don't. Because you don't want to, and you have chosen to believe that what you want to think is true is indeed true.

Spirits that could be malevolent, for all you know.

If bad things happen to people, then you do believe that God allows us to be victims.

I only heard that voice tell me I had won on the one occasion in all the years I have been doing the lottery. That is the occasion I did win. I think the spirit world wanted me to have a computer so they cheated fate and helped me win money for one. That was evidence to me and me alone, but it reassured me there is a spirit world. I am sure they will never give me a big win because that would be bad karma, but they allowed me a win when I needed it most.

The odds against a five number win were 55,000 to 1 and the odds against a voice telling you, you won on the only occasion you did win must be astronomical.

That wasn't my question. I asked how many times have you felt guided to certain numbers and didn't win? How many times did you feel sure, but didn't win?

What the hell is subtle about you winning a lottery?

No.

Yep. Nothing more subtle than filtering bacteria out of water. These spirits are inept.

What the hell is subtle about you winning a lottery?

At the time in 1998 I had no money and was in debt on my credit cards. I could not afford to run up a greater debt, and I was moaning to myself about it. I was thinking it would be the next century before I could afford a decent computer. At that moment I heard a female voice say "help is coming from and unexpected source". I won just enough money to buy a computer and pay off my cards.

I believe the spirits wanted me to have a computer to involve myself in the religious issues on the internet, so they fixed it for me. But this is not breaking any great law, as nobody believes it except me. So I do not directly change anything by winning that money.

To answer another poster, I have never felt I would win the lottery again since, as I am sure the spirits will not do this again, and will not give me a big win, because that would involve karma. In any case my financial position has improved and I do not need any more money.

I actually believe you had an experience like this (though I doubt to near certainty that it happened exactly as you claim). It is your explanation of the experience that I find fanciful.

Assume there were voices in your head as you say. Why is the explanation spirits? And if spirits, why is the explanation that they wanted you to have a computer and to be debt free? Perhaps the spirits wanted you to spend it on hookers and blow but you thwarted them?

And why would winning a large amount be a karma thing?

Every single bit of your explanation is pure conjecture. All of it. And none of it is absent more mundane explanation; you merely wish it to be as you have described.

Logically, when the voice told me I won one hour before the lottery and I did win, this indicates an intelligence behind the voice.
When the voice first spoke to me it was when I was moaning about not having
money for a computer, so it follows they wanted me to have one.
And why would winning a large amount be a karma thing?

If I was given a big win it could only be to do good and alleviate suffering, but I do not think they will as I have been doing the lottery every week since I won and only had a few small wins. I have paid back the money I won to the lottery by now so I have no debt to anyone.
If the spirit world gave me a big win it would mean they had interfered in a big way, and someone else should have got the money not me. So I would owe them a debt I could never pay, and that would be interference on a grand scale, not just a small win to buy a computer which did not make much difference to anyone else.

No, it does not, and even if it does, the most logical intelligence behind it would be your own expressing a deeply held wish borne of financial desperation.

No. It follows that you wanted you to have one.

Suppose you had had the same experience but not won anything. Would you then be going onto this forum or any other (or reaching out to people in person since you would not have a computer) and telling them: There are spirits out there that really wanted me to have a computer, but they blew it.

We both know you would not have done so, and before you object that you in fact did win and so my hypothetical is meaningless, bear in mind that (1) the odds of that happening are not so high as you think given the thousands upon thousands of people who claim foreknowledge of a lottery win but who then fail to actually win, and (2) your memory is still in question about the accuracy of the event.

More conjecture which just happens to coincide how you want things to be.

Complete non-sequitur.

If that is true, and it is still entirely conjecture, the same thing applies to your small win. It made a difference to the thousands upon thousands of others who needed just that small amount, too.

Good morning. I'm glad to see this thread is serving to be valuable after all. Welcome Scorpion. Its been a while since I've seen someone willing to discuss their personal psychic experiences on here. As Garrette and others have pointed out, many, if not all of the experiences you have described here can be explained by far more mundane reasons than "psychic" phenomenon. The fact that Scorpion feels that they are somewhat enlightened as far as fraudulent psychics behave is telling. The terms "Half smart"" and a little knowledge can be dangerous" apply here. An experienced psychic will pick up on that and use that against you every time. There have been many books referenced in this thread, (all of which I own and have read) that are excellent sources for understanding. In particular Psychic Mafia, which describes almost exactly Scorpion's experiences. Specifically, the inner workings of the spiritual psychic networks of spiritual churches. However, it only exists because of the faith of those that want, or even, need to believe in psychics.
