We have discovered fundamental forces, elementry particles, sub-stomics, atomics, molecular, lattices, crystals, cellular, complexed cellulars, humans , your sheeps, plants, mountains etc. But what about the basis/basic or prime of all these complexes. You can say brick, cement etc. are fundamental units of construction/wall. But these bricks & cement is also made from their basic material earth, stones etc. Probably but mostly, we couldn't yet go to the deepest/bottom & when we shall reach there, we shoud know/understand everything. Then there will be no doubt/unclearity.

But whether, we all could reach there or only some would reach or no one would reach is already indicated in mythologies long back.

Innerentists vary in their 'interpretation' of scripture as much as anyone else does. It's hard to tie 'em down. There are so many issues and layers that it's too slippy to genuinely bother arguing over if you seek resolution or conclusions about the authenticity or accuracy of the Bible. E.g. Which version, what language, dynamic equivalent (GNB etc.) or literal (RSV etc.) or in between. One interpretor or a group and from where, what manuscripts to use, especially if original languages used. Does culture matter (in interpreting things? E.g. If calling someone a fox now means cunning (perhaps a compliment) then if it meant a dirty low life scavenger then, do we explain this, leave it or use a more appropriate word? There are a whole range of things to consider (I've just scraped the surface here). Might I suggest/recommend for those interested, two books, both for both 'sides'.
First, a great, pretty neutral little readable book by 2 respected scholars about 'hermaneutics' called 'How to read the ible for all it's worth' by Fee and Stuart. About the things mentioned above. Very enlightening, good reviews. Amunition and help for all to save timewasting. The amazon location is here:

The other book is 'Alleged discrepancies of the Bible' by Haley (link below). This is blatently protestant evangelical bias, but the point is that it offers a pretty comprehensive list of (often multiple) explanations to most queries and alleged errors. Obviously ommisions, unsatisfactory answers may exist, but it at least gives you an idea of how certain groups of Christians tackle the issue. Yes, establish the precise claims the innerantist has and then work with that. It almost seems on other sites at least that every response o sarcastic reply expects a thorough denounciation or 'wow, I was wrong all along', and of course what really happens is a hardening into indoctrination of beliefs. A genuine, respectful, gentle but firm, clear and targetted assault is what's needed I suggest.

Most Christians don't really know what they believe, they'd have to ask a more learned member or the pastor. They would then tell him/her what they (the enquirer!) believes, so expect many errors from Christians. This is a little sarcastic (hypocrite!) but insiders would understand me.
Oh, there are inspirationalists (God guided) as well as innerantists (no errors in original) of course, so don't assume all believe the same thing. As many believers as interpretations.

I love the posts/relationship between Iacchus and Belz (and a few others). Are you actually mates? A sort of love/hate thing. Belz gets wound up and Iacchus smiles, just soaks it up and replies and takes no offence. Many other such discussions would have ended in blows. It is the benefit of both of you and all of us that you are here, thanks.
