No, I certainly was not making a distinction between 'rich and poor'. Maxwell is a late-middle-aged woman aged about 60. I am sure she might be a tough old bird but ISTM that she is not going to have the same ability to billet down in tough conditions like someone who is army-trained or a career criminal who sees time as just a hazard of his or her job and gets on with it, whether such persons are rich, poor, or whatever.

Exactly. Sleep deprivation is a well-known form of torture. A lack of sleep can drive people mad. If Maxwell does commit suicide, the horrible irony is that it will be because of the unbearable remand conditions rather than any initial intention.

Just something that would distinguish between rich and poor based on their experience.

And she was a career criminal, with far more serious crimes than her career-criminal father.

But this isn't 'time'. Maxwell is on remand. It surely cannot be beyond the wit of the prison authorities to devise a better way of checking on 'suicide risk' prisoners? For example, perhaps a small inobtrusive electrode - rather like the ECG monitors - on the temple to measure the electrical brain activity, which would tell them when she's asleep, when in REM, and when awaking.

I get that the prison guards are acting under orders as the bosses are determined that they won't be caught out in an Epstein-style death a second time and that it is understandable her bail fails because she went on the lam and is an author of her own misfortune in this. However, it is not the remit of the prison guards to mete out punishment.

My definition of a career criminal is a recidivist who returns to jail time and again. Not someone who happens to be committing a crime.

It is rather pathetic they could only do him for tax evasion, isn't it? He spent four and a half years in Alacatraz before being transferred to a terminal hospital prison. Likewise, let's just concentrate on the lurid details of Maxwell's sex toys and whether four of the many hundreds of sex workers recruited were underage, and ignore all the rest.

It's not a percentage game. One doesn't dilute ones crimes against underage people by trafficking lots more women just over the age of consent for coercive sexual acts. And I haven't seen anyone other than you mentioning sex toys.

It includes Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton on numerous occasions. Mick Jagger IIRC and loads of other well-known names. It is a fact, that Epstein arranged numerous high society dinners. There are photographs.

Please please do not tell me that all these hundreds of young women were merely shipped in to listen to the politicians, royalty, musicians, film stars and scientists drop their pearls of wisdom. Or are you saying anyone who suspects otherwise is a disgusting misogynist who hates women?

However, all Maxwell is charged with is trafficking four or five underage women and perjury (lying in her deposition re Virginia's lawsuit that Maxwell defamed her by calling her a liar).

If you keep dodging, and fail to come up with the evidence to back your claim, I will have to conclude that you have no evidence, and therefore, you were lying. Of course, you could just admit that you were wrong, and retract your claim, but given my previous experiences, I doubt you will do that.
