What makes it a bad idea? Iran has been attacking Israel through proxies since the revolution. And now they're making nukes.

Because there is no way to win that fight. Even if Israel destroyed all of Iran's nuclear sites they would not win.

The war would devastate Israel, and US bases in the ME, and both Israel and the US would be much worse off than when we started.

I didn't bring up ancient Israel .

Nope I did. It is a page back I believe. All the archeological findings amongst other 100% facts.

I proudly use the Eagle avatar of Justice destroying the lying snake of evil also. I am not a "Zionist" by any means nor a Jew.

I sure as hell am not going to back any decievers who spew rhetoric of destruction and deceit either. Especially when they try to twist history and pure facts of events the way they do and play the race and victim card so much.

Yes there are some innocent "Palestians" (if you could even really call them that), Levants rather is their real name; caught up in the middle.

I tell you one thing though...those militant Arabs over there are the scum of the Earth to the likes of you could even imagine. They are pure evil at the core.

No sane person in their right mind would blow themselves up to kill a couple of civilians or brainwash their women and children to do it.

Pure scum man. Pure scum.

What!? Do you not know history? They totally obliterated those Arab states over there the last times they met. And that was on the defensive defending one of the smallest countries in the world.

They would smear the floor with Iran son. It would not even be close fight. You totally underestimate the might of that small country known as Israel.

We are not talking about Nation building here. We are talking bout REAL WAR!

Nation building is for exploiters and fools.

Hell I guarantee that if Israel attacked Iran, most of Irans jets wouldn't even be able to get off the damn tarmac b4 they are destroyed. It would be so onesided it wouldn't even be funny.

What, do you think Israel needs to invade Iran or something?

Like the war with Iraq when Israel bombed their nuke plant in 1981? Or like the war with Syria when they bombed Syria's nuke plant in 2007? Both countries far closer to Israel than Iran btw.

And right now I think Israel is blufing about attacking Iran's nuke plants. I don't think they have the capability, they simply lack the hardware required to launch an effective attack that far away IMHO.

They couldn't even if they wanted to.

It would be quite a flight path for Israel though.

I hope you are right. As someone who has friends in both Iraq and Afghanistan I really do, but in both of those cases, Syria and Iraq did not really do much attacking back. Iraq did, but not to the scale that Iran has claimed that they would.

Some of Iran's and Hezbollah's missiles missiles could do a lot of damage to Israeli cities like Tel Aviv, and the US bases in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bahrain.

Maybe you are right. If there is a war, I hope that you are.

Part of me wants Israel to attack Iran as Iran would be a whole lot more belligerent once they get nuclear bombs, but there's just a whole lot of missiles with conventional warheadsto worry about if they do...

I think you are seriously overestimating the potential damage of these conventional missiles. The damage caused by Iraqi missiles was essentially nil. They are expensive toys that look good in marchpasts but thier potential damage is unlikely to exceed the road toll.

As far as the flight path goes, the Saudis are secretly willing to assist Israel with their airfields.

I would very much like that to be true. It is a different era and decade though.

Iran has a number of missles that can reach Israel, but a whole lot more that can reach US bases.

So there is no unified ring of Islamic terror surrounding Israel?

The Sunni governments are pragmatic and willing to ally against Iran. That's because they know Iran is a real threat, while Israel just wants to be left alone.

The ring of terror consists of Gaza, the West Bank, Syria and the Hezbollah-controlled south Lebanon.

I almost wish that Iran is stupid enough to lob missiles at US bases. Then we would have a good excuse to bomb those ****ers back to the stone age.

That's not quite a ring. The people most at risk from death by Muslims in recent years have been other Muslims.

Its possible, but would require the US and possibly NATO forces to be includes due to the immense distances between all the possible nuclear facilities and the required amount of bunker busters and heavy munitions required to get the job done.

This isn't as simple as the strike against Osirak.

Both Syria and Iraq were involved in proxy warfare long before Iran came into the picture, training, financing, and arming terrorist groups from within their countries. Syria even before Iraq with their involvement with Palestinian fedaheen against not only Israel, but in Lebanon and Jordan.

Iran's missiles are derivatives of Scuds, the same which the Iraq's had in their arsenal at the time the Osirak reactor strike in '81, in addition to a number of short and medium range unguided missiles. The main difference is that Iraq had the capability to fit chemical and biological agents to these missiles, which Syria, as far as we know, has had some issues doing the same (Report: Dozens dead in Syrian chemical weapons experiment), albeit who knows how far they've come since then. Since the Osirak strike, Iran has made strides in their capabilities in local missile production and advancements over the technology given to them by N. Korea, including clandestine research and tests on miniturizing nuclear warheads and mounting them on these missiles. There's additional evidence that there has been additional medium to long range missiles transferred to Hezbollah from Syria as well, even more so due to the turmoil seen against the Assad regime.

FYI, these missiles can reach Eilat, Israel's southern-most tip, not just Tel Aviv. An attack on Iran's nuclear sites, dozens which are potential targets distributed throughout Iran, would have a multi-prong reaction from Hezbollah and Syria in addition to incursions along the Israel-Egypt-Gaza border and the West bank.

Coming from someone who resides in Tel Aviv, I hope this attack will never occur since the repercussions would be immense. Sure, not doing anything would be significantly worse, but Israel should continue its attacks along the cyber-route and low-level attacks against scientists and the facilities themselves from within Iran as it has been doing for quite some time now.

IMO, Iran won't use its massive ballistic arsenal since that is its only real deterrent...

If there's no ring, there's apparently no issue. Don't you get it?

I didn't say that either. Lets get the issues clarified. Israel is not surrounded by a ring of enemies out to destroy it, there is definitely a need for peace talks, they have been going on for years, for reasons that are quite logical when you look at the history of the region.

Can you name a country in the world that faces greater hostility from it's neighbors than Israel?

Just because you can classify some of the immediate neighbors as a "grudging neutral" doesn't change the overall amount of the hostility Israel faces.
