War is brutal. Maybe Hamas should have thought of that before starting one. The idea that Israel should not fight back because people might get hurt is retarded.
I also believe that not allowing any food in for three months in 2025, and then having four distribution sites and only about a score of lorries daily for about fivemonths via the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation was utterly inadequate.
Why should Hamas care? They want a lot of radicalised recruits and that is what they got.
My point is that Hamas is not Gaza. Most of the inhabitants of Gaza never even had a chance to vote against Hamas.
It is hard to find a military justification for such destruction of agricultural land unless one is trying to make the area uninhabitable and ethnically cleanse the area. Which members of the Israeli cabinet have advocated without being fired. And which means that Netanyahu is sufficiently happy with it.
It is even more clear in the West Bank.
The Palestinians are caught between the Israeli government, and Hamas. The Israeli government doesn't want them to live in Gaza or the West Bank, and which is very lax when its troops shoot clearly innocent people at short range. Hamas is using the Palestinian people as tools to further their aims, and indeed the worse the IDF and the settlers treat the Palestinians, the better for recruitment and pressure on Israel.
Then you have the biblical extremists from three religions. Two with mutually contradictory Sims and the Christians with eschatological goals that temporarily align with the Jewish extremists.

Its like asking the allies to not fight a war with Germany because the German people didn't have the chance to vote out the Nazis.

The difference is that Hamas is not an existential threat to Israel. I'm sure many in Hamas would like it to be.
Also Israel has control on the ground.
And the behaviour of the Israeli government in Gaza is consistent with their behaviour in the West Bank, where the main violence is from Israeli settlers and Hamas is not an issue.
