Merged Fred Phelps nearly dead/Is dead.

They did a version of "Hey Jude" that really annoyed me. The "na na na na na-na na" bit at the end they changed to "hey evil reprobate Jews, God hates you, and you know it". The thing that annoys me (other than the obvious) is the last line. The last line in the actual song is two syllables - "hey Jude". "and you know it" is four syllables. Surely the obvious thing to sing is "hey Jews"?

I mean, come on. It's so easy to get right, and they failed.

Nommed :) made me, and my missus, LOL.

Yes. Who is God jealous of, and why? Maybe so. But it's from Paul 1 Thessalonians 4:17.
It's well established that he is a jealous god. He says as much in his own words. But that's not the same thing exactly as an envious god.

Once again incorrectly stating another poster as saying something they did not say. Evidence please.

Why bother? Your comments about Fred Phelps in this very thread convey moral degeneracy and a "lawful evil" alignment far more succinctly. I see no point in providing further evidence of evil when you have already done so yourself.

Completely different, sort of antonyms they are: the biblical use of "jealous" is that god is hoarding his followers, while "envy" is wanting what another has.

from Wickionary: Protective, zealously guarding, careful in the protection of something one has or appreciates. [from 14th c.]
For you must not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. —Exodus 34:14

You would think people who study the bible a lot would know that.

I heard Fred Phelp's last words were "I'm out. Shout out to Nick Kroll."

How does your definition of "jealous" jibe with Exodus 20:5...
for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

That has nothing to do with hoarding or protecting his followers. It's nothing but vindictive spite.

A tragic death, but at least he lived long enough to see his grandson win olympic gold.

It's not my definition, it's the definition!

As you say, jahweh is a vindictive, petty tyrant with the mind of a psychopath… if it existed, that is, which it doesn't, showing that the people who made up the stories and religion that controlled the tribe were of that character, I guess.

The god is keeping its people trapped in its compound, and anyone who escapes is down for its wrath and torture. Its jealously guarding its hoard, like Smaug squatting on its pile of treasure.

It sure isn't envious of our non believing freedom to blossom as human beings, it couldn't cope with living in a secular world where everyone has a right to control or direct their own lives.

Does that answer your question?

:)

.
His daughter asked that the Phelps family be termed "the most hated family in the world", not "the most hated family in the US".
Man, whatever they got, everyone needs vaccination from!

Inbreeding by the sound of it.
As soon as MSM get bored they disappear
