Former conspiracy believer here

Thanks Tam, your posts are almost always polite and friendly. Calmer, more civil voices such as yours are always more persuasive than the anger and irrationality that pops up on boths sides of the "fence."

But isn't my "playing the opposite side" the whole point of debate and discourse?

Red:

of course. I have 6 people on my ignore list. All of them to the one, have displayed ignorance, rudeness, maliciousness, and general child like behavior.

You are not on my ignore list, and i do not for see it happening.

TAM:)

Yup exactly, not just the bait, but the tackle too. Google images didn't come up with exactly what I was looking for, but you got the point.

Seriously, how do you guys not see that this is just an obvious work?

Looks as though somebody does not like the idea of a Truther discovering what a pile of crap Conspiracy Theories are.
Rather then pile on him,you would be wise to follow his example.

It's not incomprehensible that someone would change their mind on this, at all.

The tone of the OP and the vague details make your intent obvious.
You should work for the CIA. Your uncanny ability to sense dishonesty and ulterior motive in the tone of a short written introduction would really come in handy.

ahh it is all good. In Quebec they like their fries and gravy with cheese. Her further east, we prefer it with battered cod fish.

The best question was asked by Vincent:
What source in particular caused you to doubt the "freedom-fighting conspiracy theorists"?

To which Diagoras responded:
I don't remember exactly.

Must have been quite a source to inspire such a revelation.

RedIbis I don't think I'm following you, are you implying that he's a sock puppet/shill that's going to play the role of the sincere doubter and slowly be convinced that conspiracies are real again? Or are you saying that you don't think he was ever convinced in the first place and is just looking for attention?

Welcome Whack01.

I suspect Red thinks the former, but I am just guessing.

I honestly think it would have been easier to lie on that question...

What do you use to beat up on the poor cods?

It wasn't an overnight thing. It's not like I woke up one day and said "hey, the conspiracy theory isn't true!" It was a gradual doubting of my beliefs, followed by a brief period of not caring which side was right but still kind of believing the conspiracy anyways, followed ultimately by a gradual increase in confidence that radical Islamic jihadists were responsible. Over that time I examined many different sources on both sides of the issue, and I honestly don't remember what all those sources were. It was a couple years ago after all. No one thing convinced me to believe in the theory in the first place, and no one thing convinced me it was wrong. I don't get why you insist that my vaguery here is some indication that the whole story is a fabrication.

I will answer, knowing this is likely humorous, but also knowing that somewhere, there are people that do not know what "battered cod" is.

Battered as in COATED WITH BATTER. Batter is a flour based...oh for gods sake...

We batter them with the same things sealers beat seals with...lol

Your question is a bit unclear to me, but I want to answer accurately.

I'm not trashing this guy's character or insulting him in any way. My opinion is that his OP is a "work" if you will. I suspect he never looked closely at alternative theories, thought them credible, only to change his mind later and see the error of his ways.

If he can't even name the source of the information which changed his entire perspective and convinced him "conspiracy theories" were bs and the official story is conclusive, I doubt such a revelation ever took place.

Again, why do you think that there must be one source of information that changed my entire perspective? How often does one source of information change anybody's perspective? Seldom do people make huge changes in their worldviews overnight.

And by the way, I did mention three sources of information that influenced me. Doesn't that count for something?
