It's actually very good in that it fleshes out the escape routes out of Europe, and South American hideouts that were used by Nazi war criminals after the war.
What it doesn't do is find Hitler.
They do make a compelling case he might not have died in the bunker, but it's not a strong case, and they can't put him anywhere else.
The big problems are the Soviets and the S.S., neither like to talk, and the Soviet KGB had trouble verifying the bunker story even with most of Berlin under their control, and there was no way their S.S. prisoners would ever give up their Fuhrer, dead or alive. Stalin was already paranoid, and refused to believe Hitler was dead. The KGB fed western intelligence services rumors in hopes that MI6 or the OSS would turn over enough rocks to find Hitler.
Our S.S. prisoners told conflicting stories about Hitler's final days causing us to blow all of their stories off as just a smoke screen.
My personal belief is that if Hitler had fled Berlin he still died in Europe. My reasoning is basic human nature. If Hitler had escaped to South America someone would have floated a photograph of him after his actual death of old age. Seriously, how could you not get a picture of your Fuhrer's 1950 birthday party?
I don't think Hitler's ego would allow him to hideout for the remaining years of his life.
