Former CIA Agent says: "Hitler Fled To Tenerife after WW II"

He had a cloaking device in one of his pockets and ran away after activating it. :tinfoil

Smart move. I bet he also shaved his moustache so nobody would recognize him when the batteries ran out. If I had time, I'd research the trail of allied MPs saying "I swear I've seen you somewhere before. Aw shucks, keep going." It'll probably start from Berlin's Southwestern suburbs and go through Germany and Southern France all the way to Francostan.

He had a guy in a robe with him. "This is not the murdering psychopath dictator you are looking for."

Waved 'em right through.

They're nuts. I killed him with a remotely operated drone in Castle Wolfenstein.

This is silly, of course, but the "Hitler is not dead" rumors did start up pretty much immediately.

My grandma got a letter from a guy who was with the liberation in Germany, and he wrote on May 26, 1945

Some seem to think that Hitler is dead but I don’t. I may be wrong but it seems funny that his body never was really found. One of the bodies that were supposed to be have been him turned out to be his cook. So no one is sure that he is dead. But time will tell.

So the "Hitler is not dead" rumors were already going mere weeks after his death.

That Hitler died in the bunker beneth the Reich Chancellery in 1945 has been established beyond a reasonable doubt. Not that that will stop the kooks and the people who like to peddle books aimed on them.

To be fair, the Allies had just defeated an enemy that had proven to be innovatively sneaky, and had put much of their stolen wealth to good use. The idea that Hitler had escaped was more than just a believable rumor in 1945 to the men on the ground in Germany. The S.S. had many secret hideouts and storage facilities which took months to uncover. Their ingenuity at many of these places was impressive, and so the idea that Hitler might have escaped would be plausible for the rest of that decade.

People back then had earned the right to be paranoid about Hitler's true fate, and I think that is the flaw in Bob's work, the lack of perspective. What's more realistic, Hitler escaping to Argentina, or 50 high-ranking S.S. officers ordered to give 50 different stories of their Fuhrer's true fate? The S.S. were crafty, and this is why the KGB, MI6, and CIA wasted years on this giant red herring.

He had a cloaking device in one of his pockets and ran away after activating it... :tinfoil
... which he got from one of his time travelling assassins from the future (or past) (or... sideways?).

What people don't realize is that Hitler used a time travelling assassins time traveling device to foil remaining time travelling assassins.

It's the only plausible explanation!

Given how rumors fly at the grunt level in a peacetime army, I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case.

BTW, having a body doesn't stop conspiracy theories.

I thought everyone knew that Hitler was incinerated in his bunker by a fire-wielding android, but escaped by transmitting his consciousness into a pre-prepared clone, after which he started running around in a purple Klan outfit.

It's called Neuschwabenland.

That is factually incorrect. Just before the war ended, the Nazis bought a small island off the South American coast with luxury villa etc. It was completely isolated and accessible only by submarine. Hitler fled there shortly after Berlin fell and has lived there ever since.

It's called Isle Hitler.

Everyone knows Hitler fled to the secret NAZI moon base before Berlin fell. There's even a documentary about it.

:p

Almost a :D

Speaking some Spanish, I read it as Eel Hitler. If you move the island to "off of Australia" you get people thinking in English pronunciation and it works better as a pun.

Still... A+ for effort.

Tenerife is great!

He had an affair with the heroic, gorgeous, Kiwi aviatrix, Jean Batten.

Foolmewunz is their love child!

I see it all now.

Ah, German-Kiwi that explains my love for Rugby and inexplicable desire to plunge the world into global conflagration.
